If you would like to brush up on your skills now is the time to get started. Join us Tuesday, May 11th from 7pm-9pm. Instructors and Range Safety Officers will be there to help you. Hosted by the St. Charles Sportsman's Club at Middleton Hall, 4045 Renner Rd., Waldorf. For more information call Jose Torres 240-862-4596.

That's a great idea. It's in Waldorf? Do they have a range there? Or is this safety training?

It's in Forest Park, which is the 45 MPH section of Rt. 5 just before the light at Mattawoman-Beantown if you are going north.

Mig, last time they even provided the guns and ammo, but Sharon will have to confirm that they'll do it again this time. It's really a lot of fun and you get a "minder" who will show you how to shoot if you don't know how, and give you a checkup if you already shoot.

It's fun to bangbangbang :jet:

I think it's a great idea, and wish more women would get involved. It's a little far for me nowadays, as I am already a member at Sanner's Lake, but I give great kudos for this event and wish there were more like it.

I haven't been to the range since last October. :frown:

I gotta get there soon, too.

I have a brand new baby glock that needs to be broken in. I'd love to go this weekend, but I doubt I'll be able to, since it's Mother's Day and I doubt my MIL would come down here to shoot. But it's a nice mental image.

How's the motorcycle riding going Nanny?

This event starts off with a firearm and range safety briefing and then each shooter receives individual instruction with an RSO who will be with you every step of the way. Firearms, ammo, eye & ear protection are provided, but you may also bring your own. There are some firearm restrictions (pistols and revolvers up to .45 cal and ammo under 1600/fps). I recommend calling Jose to get all the details before you bring your own. For safety, all firearms must be cased and unloaded/empty when brought into the range and may be subject to visual inspection upon entry.

This sounds exactly like what I have been looking for! Is there a place to register?

Reservations are appreciated but not required. There is no charge for this event. Contact Jose (he likes to get a head count of how many guests we'll have) especially if you need directions or have other questions.

Before I forget...

The club is also sponsoring a "NRA Refuse to be a Victim Program" later this month. For more information click the link below.

What age do you have to be to do this? Thinking older girl children?

Good question. To get the specifics be sure to call Jose 240-862-4596. He's easy to talk to and can answer all your questions. I spoke to him last night about being the contact (again) for this event. Tell him Sharon told you to call. :yay:

I went last year. It was a lot of fun and at the end we all got together and did a group photo - all of us holding up our targets! :buddies:

Hmmmm, sounds like a great idea. Never shot anything other than a BB gun :)killingme) so this would help me decide whether to take that step I've been thinking about.

My Mom will even be down here visiting for Mother's Day so she could watch the baby while I go. Thanks for the info, Sharon!

I really should go. I haven't shot a handgun in years and I had Lasik done so I think I need to see how I do with new eyes.

Ok - I talked myself into it. I'll be coming up from St Mary's City if someone needs a ride pm me :howdy:

I didn't see anything on their website. This is open to the public and not members only, right? I plan on coming but would hate to drive all the way up there to find out it's MO. I tried to call but not getting an answer.
