Laptop Batteries

Have a HP Pavilion, only a couple of years old. After a full charge, the laptop on battery lasts about an hour. Are we talking a new battery module or is this normal?

TIA

An hour on 2 year old battery isn't bad.
Google up a new one and see if it's worth the cost of replacing.

Open the battery case and get the number off the battery instead of going to HP's web site

Replacements can be had from Amazon or places like NewEgg for much less than going through the maker. But watch out for low quality Chinese knockoffs. Read and weigh the reviews of any specific product well.

Check your battery settings and see if they are optimized. Screen brightness, cooling fans etc can affect the charge.

But I would agree with aps and just buy a new one.

Depends, ive had laptops that only gave an hour of battery life from the minute I got them. Then I've had ones that have 5-6 hrs of battery life even after years.

I also got one that was physically larger and higher capacity on FleaBay .. for a surplus-ed Work Laptop
