Laptop doing CRAZY things - HELP!!!!!

My laptop is doing things like clicking things all by it's self, the right menu appears (you could be across the room), bump it and it click in items on the desktop. When I try to type letters in word I get the shortcut menus instead. Strange stuff even happens when I have my laser mouse installed.

I was thinking touchpad controller?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Have you spilled something into the keyboard recently?

:lmao:

you can try removing the keyboard and cleaning the underside of it or if it is still under warranty you can have the keyboard replaced...

I have a third party warranty. They say it would take up to 8 weeks. If it's from a spill they probably won't cover it anyway. I've never cracked a laptop, just desktops. Do you think I will need to replace the keyboard or the touchpad?

Get yourself a cheapo keyboard, less than $10, just to keep you working until you figure out if it can be replaced under warranty, or whatever else you decide.

EDIT: nebermind... didn't see it was a laptop.... an external keyboard may not work right if the internal keyboard is being funky...

8 weeks? All you need them to do is ship you the keyboard... you dont have to tell them you spilled something, tell them you have several keys that have popped off..

what kind of laptop is it?

I suspect that I would have issue with an external keyboard if I am already having issue with an external mouse. thanks
