You're a LOON :)
Yes I did, I like top of the line things. Unfortunately this particular top of the line turned out to be a thorn in my side. It was a gamers machine, it came with a hefty price. Unfortunately a little heftier than I thought. :ohwell:

Sorry I think that is INSANE!!! Do you know how many laptops you could buy for that price???? I can't even imagine spending that much money on a computer...

I had a Toshiba for 2 years.... loved it.. I just replaced it with a HP.. I miss my Toshiba.

Ok, what's not possible? I know I am going to regret this. :lmao:

Not possible you spent 4000 on a gaming laptop. Very few people know this, but I'm a gamer.

Got a Level 71 Mage

A level 70 Death Knight

Level 24 Warlock

and....... a Level 38 Horde Paladin

Working my way to 80 on all.

No gaming laptop in the world could be that much.

I very recently sold my own computer based company and worked with Dell extensively.

I think you clicked an extra zero.

Oh I know it was insane now, especially since this computer I am on now is much faster and meaner for less than half the price. But we all learn from our mistakes. I will never buy another laptop just because it looks good! :lmao:

$2000.00 is still insanely high for a gaming machine. What witch doctors are selling you potions?

I have the receipt for it, would you like to see it? I paid all total 3895.00 for the machine once it was built. What can I say, I picked the best of everything that could go on the damn thing at the time. I got screwed.

I paid 1500.00 for this one, that is not insane considering it is a touchscreen and has 4GB of memory, 64 bit Vista and a 500GB hard drive. Many other options, like the fact that it is 22" and can be used as a tv also. Nice machine.

I'm not here to fuss with you. I just hate it that you were taken to that degree.

So even though you're a self-described :nerd: you bought it because it "looks good" and ultimately got shafted. Doesn't leave you much room to criticize princess, methinks.

This sounds great, all I know is I am at my parents they have cable wireless internet. What is Home Network? Are you saying if my brother turns his PC on we can link together somehow?

I love my Ipod can't live without it but it is a huge headache sometimes. Why can you only snyc your ipod to one library, well I kinda understand that answer. With technology today I would think that a new library could upload whats on my current ipod.

One other way to do this would be to get an external hard drive for backups. You should have one anyway. Backup your music and then you can copy it to your new computer.
Then keep backing up anything new that you get.

I wouldn't bet on that. My Gen 2 was $3800.00 and with the warranty I bought it came out to $4,600.00.

But it was bought about a month after Dell started coming out with the XPS line back in '06. They were all high back then. I think they had just bought out Alienware.

Yeah mine came with a 4 yr. accidental coverage plan which wasn't cheap, but sure is handy when your a clutz like me! :lmao: I still use it when this one is defragging and stuff like that, but I hardly ever use it anymore. It is just my back for now. At the time I bought this sucker it screamed. Now I out bought it by going with this machine and paying about 2500.00 less. I know now not to fall for good looks and the screaming speed. I was just learning then myself and had never had a decent computer and just went all out. Got spanked real hard in the end! :lmao:

No more Dell's for me!

I really don't have any major hangups with Dell. But I learned to get the Warranty where they come to your house on the same day you call. It's expensive and you had better hope you have extra PCs for backup. But when the tech calls them and requests a replacement, they don't quibble about it.

Unfortunately for me my situation has changed to where I really don't have allot of need for High End laptops anymoreso I don't see any brand new ones for myself anytime in the near future. Desktops.....

Well, I wouldn't have went with this one but the touchscreen was cool! I also liked the size of the screen and the fact that it is all built into the screen. I only have to deal with the keyboard and mouse and it was something I could have in my room and not have it interfer with other things. I am not a serious gamer anymore so therefore didn't really need the gaming aspect of the machine, but I was used to the speed so I had to have that 4GB of RAM and the 500 GB hard drive was a turn on as well. This computer screams compaired to my XPS and it makes me sick that I got shafted so hard. I didn't look to buy another one for a long time after I bought that XPS but it was so totally unreliable that I had to just give in and get a different computer.

I have not looked into touchscreens at all. I spent so much time trying to avoid touching my screen and keeping it clean it's hard to talk myself into putting my fingers on it intentionaly. :lmao:

Kinda like the first time I tried contact lenses. Spent my whole life trying to avoid getting stuff in my eyes then here I was having someone telling me to stick my finger in it. :lmao:

I don't like my screen dirty either, I use a stylus. Any one will work, and I can also use my fingernail to touch the things I want open and stuff. It's really cool. They only thing that literally "bugs" me is if any bug lands on the screen it will close out windows and stuff. I have asked if there is a way to make the screen less sensitive and there is not. I just keep a fly swat handy. They tend to stay away when I have one within reach. Makes me think they are smarter than we think they are! :lmao:
