R.I.P. Bobo, We miss you!
Does anyone have advice on a good laptop to purchase for middle school aged child. One that has enough technology to last for a few years down the road...oh and can support Sims Life Stories?? Thanks.

Why a laptop?
That was the number #1, I really want on her list!!
Oh I'm sure she'll do cartwheels over that one!!
IMO a laptop is a bit much for a middle schooler. They don't need to carry one around and they certainly don't need it for schoolwork. They are fragile and break easily.
I know I don't really have a say in your decision, but if you go with a desktop, you can upgrade individual pieces over the course of the next couple years to keep it up to date while maintaining the security of a desktop not being able to get left at a friends house or coke spilled on the keyboard or batteries dying.

Theres even barbie and bratz.
Ahh, she gave them up a couple years ago. Last years biggie was Breyer Horses and digital camera.
I tend to agree but she has been asking for awhile. She also realizes this big gift equates to lots of smaller gifts, therefore, don't expect much under that tree.
Where is he/she going to take it?
I doubt they want it in school and I can't imagine a middle school child going anywhere that would require a computer.
Save money and get him or her a desk top.
She will be turning 12 in Jan.I know, I'm kidding. How old is she?
Well then, imo, just find the cheapest laptop you can find. The Sims is a very low requirement game and runs fine even on 5 year old Pentium 4s. So don't worry about any of that.
Just stay away from the E-PCs.
I'd strongly recommend the lowest requirements you can muster from a Dell Vostro.
This is her I don't want a desktop...
you should ask her where she wants to take it. Otherwise she's just wasting money.
I know I'm not being very helpful, but when/if it breaks, a laptop will be much more expensive to fix/replace/upgrade.
She wants to be able to take it where ever she is in the house...outside the house..and of course to friends. Guess I better consider those protection plans!!
