Largest selection of Beers in SoMD

port of call has a pretty extensive selection
There are a few places that all have roughly the same size selection but you'll find some things at one place you won't find at others. There's nothing down here that compares to Perfect Pour in Columbia or State Line in Elkton though.

Yes and no. Finally found someone with Anchor Steam's holiday brew last night (Colonial in La Plata) and ordered some twisted thistle while there. In general just looking for a place that carries alot of beers. Used to go to Latelas on 175 in Hanover just off of the BW Pkwy--really nice selection.

Go to Rosewick's in La Plata... Their beer selection is incredible!
I've been asking around about Anchor's seasonal (It's called Our Special Ale) and it seems like no one around here has received it yet. I don't know what the delay is, it's really late to get out a holiday seasonal.

Colonial liquors in La Plata had about 10 cases of it right across from the cash register!

Blue Wind on 235.
They may not have a lot of beer, but they have a nice selection. Plus the owner can order anything you like

They used to have a large, varied selection of different beers, but have cut way back on them recently. Beer room looks a bit empty now.
But Rob is good about getting whatever you want if it's available.

What would you reccommend as a good imported beer? A friend of ours killed a nice size deer and even had it processed for us. He doesnt drink a lot but does enjoy a few good beers now and then. I had planned on getting him that and some baked goods to say thanks.

I just wanted to support other's suggestions by adding this:
We heart Nick's, both of Calvert and of Clinton. My husband and I keep an out for their meat and alcohol specials.
In the Pax River area for beer selection, specifically the craft brews, we like International the best. California Wine and Spirits can be a little pricey at times but we like them, too, based on convenience, selection, and the whole build your own six pack thing.

There is a shop in Charles County (Waldorf area) in the shopping center off Berry Road. They have a ton of wine and some very unusual beers, too. Very nice store. In the front they have a wine chiller for guests... awesome!!!!
