Larry's Comic Place Doesn't Like Toddlers

with that rationale that would turn every Baskin Robins into a restaurant, the A&W/Gas Station would be a resturant, Target would be a resturant, Wal-Mart would be a resturant.......

It is called: Big Larry's Comic Book Cafe

café [ˈkæfeɪ ˈkæfɪ]
n
1. a small or inexpensive restaurant or coffee bar, serving light meals and refreshments

I like kids and not only tolerate them, but actively enjoy them. Some little snot waves at me, I wave back. If they want to chat for a minute, that's fine. Larry and I have been known to share our food with kiddos at the next table (with their parents' permission, of course). And I will watch my language if there are little ones within range.

But those are nice little kids, not screaming, misbehaving hellions who need their ass beat. If some squab comes wandering over to my table, I'll say hello to them. But Mom or Dad better come retrieve them within 30 seconds. And PS, make them sit down in their seat.

Some kid kicking the back of my seat is a no go. And a tantrum throwing nuisance will get a nasty look, and perhaps a comment or two, thrown their parents' way.

Let people see the best in your child and admire them as they deserve. Don't let them see the evil spawn that lurks within. Keep that part to yourself.

I don't like ANYBODY. Whether they're kids or adults.

So the next time I go out, I expect you bastards to stay in your homes and places of business so I don't have to deal with your sorry asses.

You sons of #####es are still out there.

This is what I'm talking about. I shouldn't have to deal with you jackasses, but every time I go out, there you are.

No freakin courtesy.

I don't mind the screaming that much. I feel bad for the parents. I only hope that they're trying their best to get the kid to be good, rather than rewarding bad behavior. I don't remember my kids having many meltdowns in public, but I'm sure it's awfully embarrassing and frustrating for the parents.

Some bimbo snapping her gum is way more annoying.

Sometimes I'll be searching for something and come across an old thread that's worth a re-read.

I know. I have experienced the same 'bump' stuff. That's the thing about archived forums, it is forever lurking out there! I read a good bit (before my time), but I think you came out of this thread great! It is not like we all have not experienced the child tantrums at one time or another. And, people with children that say they haven't are lying!

Bottom line (still) is the boy was being horrible as toddlers can be. Larry should not have said what he did where customers could hear him. The place was a madhouse that day, not a fine dining establishment. Hard to believe this has been almost 3 years ago.

Poor Mitzi

My kids weren't fit throwers but my grandbrat showed his ass on a number of occasions and had to get hauled out of wherever we were. Had I dealt with this back then I'd have been more sympathetic.

I guess people forget they were a child once upon a time. Show me a child that has never misbehaved in public, and I will eat my hat. I have witnessed kids having tantrums while out and about, but I don't get all incensed. Why get worked up about it? It is an innocent child in the learning process. I do have to say that the few times my children did that to me, I would just grab them up in a huge mama bear hug, and they would stop! I think it was because they couldn't breathe! Their tantrum life span was very short!

If I remember correctly, we couldn't just haul him out at the time. We were in line waiting on our big order of hot dogs. He was in stroller crying because he was hungry. Times change. Over the summer we went out to eat & said we were getting crabs. The waitress asked him what he would like and he said "one crab please" :killingme She made sure to place one crab in front of him when the order came (along with his chicken tenders). It was cute.
