Yes it could have...as many bomb threats as we have...have to check everything out.

You know damn well that 99.9% of school bomb threats are called in to get out of school. Why is it that teachers think everyone else is stupid?

I would have made him stand up in front of the class and read the note himself.

passing notes was a good way to pass the time.. you must be a real bore as a teacher if the kids are passing notes instead of listening to you . :yay:

I am not a real bore as a teacher. My students enjoy coming to class everyday and I do a darn good job! Kids will be kids...especially at middle school...they are all about socializing. So please don't ASSume that I am a bore of a teacher when you have zero clue.

She could have just taken it and thrown it in the trash. She didn't have to read it. Or, she could have sat it on her desk and kept the students after and told them to cut it out. But noooooo....she had to read it.
I'd have read it aloud to the class, then had the culprit write it on the blackboard 200 times and sign it, then I'd have left it there for the rest of the day so my other classes could enjoy as well. :jet:

haha your wrong, we had one my junior year and there was a pipe bomb in the school... so obviously out of all the ones we had which were about 6 or 7 thats less than 99.9 percent...

you either dont have kids in the school system or something is seriously wrong with you.

Ok read it..but to yourself...hell not to embarrass the kid. I think it is fine to pass notes back and forth..why not? Hell I could understand it being a problem if certain children who weren't doing well in class were passing the notes but if it was an A student...then why bother? They obviously are doing something right.

You can call it nosey if you want. The kids had an independent assignment to work on and he decided to pass notes instead. The fact that I red it and his face turned red was his punishment. I could have been real mean and called home or something else.

Does your bumper sticker say "If you can red this, thank a teacher?"

it was fine back 5-10 years ago, but with the situations that have happend at schools with killings and ever since columbine its taken a different approach.....

kids are going to be kids regardless if you read a note in class....or make them read the note aloud or write it on the chalkboard 200 times...if teachers pay more attention to what the students are doing every minute of every class...then how could they focus on teaching? there are retards in every class...the ones that don't want to listen that much rather fall asleep..I couldn't be a teacher I would slap some sense into them...but teachers get trampled over by the students because they have no authority...
