I have to use All Free-n-Clear on our stuff because I have skin allergies to fragances. Then on the dog bedding I use whatever is on sale.

I use Gain and then with whites just plain bleach and with colors Clorox 2 and then throw the downy ball in but I always used to do it on the long cycle. I guess I will switch to the short.

Like you do laundry. We all know you sit on your arse eating bon-bons all day. Poor J has to do everything...

Eff off!!

Poor J has never had to touch laundry in the years that we have been living together. He prolly doesn't even know where the laundry room is in our house.

Do you have well water? If you don't have any type of water softener, etc. (which I can't imagine ) you might want to add one of the laundry boosters like Arm & Hammer and the others that I can't think of right now. They soften the water and help with cleaing the clothes and help prevent the discoloration that comes from the iron, etc. in well water.

Mine did a load of laundry 3 weeks ago and damm it, he'll remind me how he contributes to doing housework.

Right now, I don't expect him to touch the laundry. He has the pool to take care of and in the beginning of the season, it takes a good bit of work and time. We found a mole and snake in the filter 2-days ago. Ewwww

My husband shrunk my favorite shirt the first time he did the laundry. I'm pretty sure it was on purpose so I'd never let him do it again. It worked. I'm still sad. :bawl:

Using dryer sheets actually puts a "film" over clothes. You'll clean your clothes better if you don't use them. :bubble:

thats probaly true, but they smell better w/the dryer sheets and it seems like it reduces the static

I use Liquid Tide with bleach alternative. And that's it. If I have grease or some other stain that I think needs a little extra help, I'll spray it with Simple Green, scrub it a little and throw it in with the rest of the laundry.

For some tough grease stains and paint, I scrub it with paint thinner first till I see the stain has dissolved, or started to, then spray it with Simple Green and throw it in by itself the first time. That works pretty good. I've saved many shirts and jeans that way.

Good tip on the wash time though...makes sense and something I never thought about before other than using or not using the 30 min or 15 minute soak cycle. :yay:

I do though have a knack for shrinking my favorite shirts in the dryer. I put them in there for a few minutes to de-wrinkle them...then fall asleep, or get busy doing something else. Only the shirts that I don't like too much seem to escape the death by dryer sentance.

I've done the other persons laundry in relationships, etc... and it never bothered me in the slightest... afterall, I'm doing mine, might as well throwns theirs in at the same time. The only time I do have a problem with this is if they EXPECT me to do their laundry.... that's an entirely different story. A fine line that can easily be crossed but... if its every crossed you are SOL  Also a thank you here and there for doing it goes a long way too.

He says Thank you but what gets to me is if I am in the middle of something he will walk in and say hey the washer stopped.... I look at him and I could just smack him. LOL

Old Navy stuff qualifies for the "not so much" category though. I don't own anything by Old navy...I have been in taht store a few times and haven't liked anything that I saw in there, besides maybe a customer or cashier or two.

No offense, I know alot of folks wear Old navy stuff...It's just not for me.
