Lazy Deer

Happened to walk by bedroom window and saw that two deer were lying down along the fence line eating leaves. Guess they are too tired to stand.

Last year I had a doe and two fawns lying out under an apple tree for nearly an hour. Sweetest thing I had seen in a long time.
I have seen them lying in other areas along the fence line but thought it was so funny that they were eating while just lying there. Normally when they eat in our woods, they try for the highest leaves they can reach. These two were taking the easy route.

Have you been out to dinner since the restriction got lifted for indoor dining?
I have only eaten dinner out one time, had a really good burger and a beer at the Taphouse.
Yes, I know, it's lamb, but it is so damn good, fries are good too.

Could have gone inside but since it was a nice evening, sat on the patio chatting with Carlos.

There have been some really nice evenings to eat out - sure the heat will kick in soon enough and drive us all indoors - might as well take advantage.
Been working late, long days, too tired to get changed and go back out.
Crash and burn. Besides, I feel like two ton Tony right now. Lack of exercise and butt planted in a chair for 10 hours hasn't helped.
Meals are grab and gobble.
Bad habits need to go

No lazy deer in my corn fields - I counted more than 60 stalks in this particular spot where they just bite the tops out and leave them lay on the ground. Can’t make no money like this!

Deer have a four-chambered stomach. The first chamber, called the rumen, is for storage. The rumen allows for the deer to gather a lot of food at once and then digest it later. The deer bring the food back up into their mouth and chew it again

Bastids have been all up in my pear tree, ate all of the missus' tiger lillies, and even trimmed all the new growth off a euonymous bush.....
