Leaving dogs home alone for extended periods

If you're abandoning your dog all day and then when you're finally home you just play with it once in awhile when you're in the mood, you're doing a disservice to your loyal companion.
I guess you are forgetting meeting my lazy ass dog.

Obviously there are times where you can't really control how long you leave your dog at home and hope for this best. I've heard more than 6 hours isn't a good idea, regardless of bladder. I mean think about it...if you were left at home alone for 8+ hours without a bathroom, how would you feel? Dogs are meant to be companions, but they need us as much as we need them. If you're abandoning your dog all day and then when you're finally home you just play with it once in awhile when you're in the mood, you're doing a disservice to your loyal companion.

you saying i shouldnt have dogs... and my dogs are unhappy? :tap:

nope..... not at all.

I have 5 large dogs (only 2 crate now) and 1 small dog (she is crated).... from 6am till 430pm or so.

now... it was my fault but last week i went out at 3:30pm and didnt get home till 6am :jet:... and they were just fine.
Do your dogs have their own bathroom area in your house?

NO

but there are times were i can get home.. and certain times like during a storm where they may have to hold it for longer than normal.

trust me... my dogs are NOT suffering by no means. But if they have an accident during an extended time they are left alone... then oh well. Im not going to get mad at them (and the little dog has a very large crate and she does have an area to potty)
