So the non-custodial parent can request to see reciepts and proof that the money is being spent on the child(ren)?
She's saying that each parent's income and expenses need to be documented for determining CS payments.

My ex actually made me do that one month - tot up what I spent on each kid so he could see where his CS was going. We ended up with him being about $300/month in the red and he never asked me for a report again.

Thankfully, I've never been divorced. This thread is both enlightening and depressing. I can't imagine the emotional pain that comes with getting the divorce, even if one's spouse is a demon from hell. And then the fights over custody and child support...just reading about those fights, I'd rather slice open my stomach with a rusty spoon. I hope and pray I never have to go through that emotional barb wire.

Why is that unfair if the monthly cost of the child has gone up. From the sounds of it the health insurance costs went up. One would think if he had the child under his health insurance and lost his job and the mother had to pick up the tab for health insurance to the tune of $600 a month then his support should be raised.
The way i see it is if you lose your job and half to pay rent you will be homeless. your rent wont go down so why should child support? The way i see it is there may not be social security soon so i save money every check..If he was to save money if he had a good job before he wouldnt be in a bind right now.

Well that's good. I do know of someone who took one of my friends to the cleaners. (Of course, he's let himself get screwed at every turn, so I've finally lost all sympathy), and I know... I KNOW she spends child support money on her lottery tickets, and she gets herself nice clothes, and things like that. Can't prove it, but I know what she does. She brags about it to her friends.

Now, I will grant that she doesn't blow money on herself at the expense of her children - they do get what they need - but still, it's child support, not ####-support.

And just so that everyone doesn't think I endorse dead-beat dads, I have severed ties with a friend or two that don't pay their child support, or get under-the-table jobs to get out of paying.

I've lost a job before, but never a job and a half. :lmao:

Depends on who you're getting divorced from. Mine was easy - I took my kids and walked away. He said, "I'll pay you x-amount in child support and I want to see them these days" and I said "Fine."

Because you can move into a cheaper apartment, house or trailer, or you could stop paying rent all together and move under a bridge.

So what? Does she work? If so, she's entitled to buy clothing for herself and it's not coming out of his child support.

My ex used to ##### because I took the kids on ski trips, like if we weren't living completely hand to mouth, he shouldn't have to pay child support and could spend that money romancing his new sweetie. And he was paying LESS than he would have if I'd gone to court.

Did you read the whole thing?

It IS coming out of his child support. She brags to her friends about how he's such a dumbass, and how she's getting so much money from him she doesn't even really need a job - and other all kinds of crap.

Wanna hear more?

Check this #### out: She has another child, who is not in her custody, who she's supposed to be paying child support. Over the past 10 years, the total amount of child support that she's paid is right around $2000.

This woman makes me ill.

Anyway, that's why I was interested in the receipt and proof information touched-on earlier.

YES, I read the whole thing  and nowhere did you indicate that she had no job other than being his ex-wife.

That's your friend's fault. I think it's safe to say that she's not taking him to the cleaners, he is driving himself. And he must make a hell of a lot of money if she can live off the child support.

I have a better one, though:

Our neighbors got divorced and he paid her enough child support (according to the calculation table and not a penny more) that not only does SHE not have to work, but her new husband doesn't work, either. AND she kept their paid-for house AND he picks up medical through his company.

I'd feel sorrier for him but he's the one that wanted out and has very little contact with his children, even though he lives just right up the road. In essence, he's paying some other guy to be a father to his kids.

If my ex had to maintain insurance on my kid and lost his job I wouldn't be able to put my kid on my plan until anual enrollment. Should I let the kid go without insurance?

Now that is not true.. Companies have clauses to get around the annual enrollement deal.

BTW damn you got daycare cheap LOL.. I pay 600 a month just for one. Luckily the other one is in school and even her tuition isnt that expensive haha..

:yeahthat: Federal law. Have to allow you to change for certain circumstances.

For the daycare, my wife is stay at home. She gave up a teaching job that would now be paying more than $50K. Still think anyone else didn't get off cheap?
