Lenny's...

I've practically been living at Lenny's for the last week - been there three times for dinner and once for lunch. What was dismaying to me is that all three times I was there for dinner, they only had a few tables going on. Yet the stupid CIP and Outback were PACKED.

No accounting for taste, I guess, but I don't want to hear anyone talking about good food vs. crap because most people obviously prefer crap.

Their rep has been tarnished from past years, and it will take a while to get that cred back again. Hope they survive long enough...

My mother and I went there for dinner not too long ago..and the food was eh...maybe I didn't order the right thing (bleu cheese burger) but it was lukewarm..and overcooked. I can't remember what my mom got...but she wasn't blown away either..plus our table was dirty and sticky...

what should I order? the jambalya pasta larry mentioned sounded kinda good..i'm not adverse to giving it another go..it wasnt bad..just not spectacular.

The wife and I went about a month ago, with a couple that just moved here.
We all enjoyed it.
I had the Prime Rib, Med rare and it was perfect.
What everybody else had, hell I forgot, but nobody complained.

Service was great.
We will go back, but we don't get out much.

I haven't been to Lenny's in years & years. Back when my parents lived over there. I didn't know it had been remodeled. But I remember seeing it when I came back to the area, amazed it was still there!

It is a shame they aren't as packed as Outback or CIP (Lenny's has way better steak and service). Commercial name recognition goes a long way in TV nation. Hopefully they are still doing well enough to turn a profit.

They are one of our favorites. Best place to get a good steak in St. Mary's!

So gave it a try tonight and it was excellent. I got the fried chicken and it was a whole lot of tender chicken. Hubby got the cheesesteak and he said it was good. He also got a piece of pumpkin pie and said that was good too. The service was great although we were the only ones sitting at the tables and there were a couple of people at the bar. We will definitely be going there again.

I don't know

Took a just met friend - first date to Lenny's Saturday nite. Service was great, parking sucks even for my small car, though it was fairly crowded. Oysters were okay. He said stuffed shrimp was undercooked. Today he took me to Charter House. I kinda felt embarrassed cause Lenny's was my suggestion. Last time I was there I was impressed. Thank goodness meeting was the main intention of the evening. Wonder if the rep puts too much pressure on the cook.

Went to Lenny's yesterday for brunch. Puke! Barf! Ick! :dead: Everything was bad -- service, food, even the dishes were dirty. I've always enjoyed their lunch, but their breakfast is always a mess.

We went there 1 time and it was good. Only issue i had was the bacon was not crispy but i think that was because it was in that steamer/wamer thing. It does need pancakes and french toast. The waffles were bad.

Went to Lenny's for a father's day brunch. Pretty good breakfast, nothing to write home about but not bad. I enjoyed it.

The only thing that I would complain about is that we were seated at a table near the front door, and it's a long way to the buffet through a crowd of people with a loaded plate. Also, probably not a good idea to have that half-step to go down from the new section to the old section. I can picture people carrying plates of food not seeing that step, and tripping over it.

I'm bumping this TTT to echo Larry's comments. Wife and I ate there last night for the first time since the remodel. We were impressed and will certainly be back. To save myself typing, I'm highlighting Larry's comments that I am in particular agreement with. :)

WOW!

Haven't been in there is AGES (long before the remodel) and all I can say is WOW!

The atmosphere is very nice, the staff were great (thank you, Presley, for a job well done!). Bathrooms nice and clean. Great beer selection. And the food was 4.5 stars. Maybe better.

I had their version of jambalaya, with penne. I am a penne nazi and far too many folks mess it up. This was perfect. The shrimp were perfect, another easy to mess up thing in a entree. Sausage was nice, coulda been spicier. The chicken was fab and it's done in a cheese sauce that could easily be some mac and cheese over blown mess. It was perfect, just a great sauce, not too anything.

She had this thing called 'stuffed ham' which most people know will kill you. Kinda like that Japanese blow fish sushi; every once in awhile, you die yet people claim to love it and it is some sort of must have thing.

Well, you didn't hear me say this but, it was good! Surprisingly good. I might even order it good. It's the St. Mary's platter which there is, rumor has it, an underground movement to get on the regular menu, as is the Danny's jambalaya that I had. The St. Mary's comes with the stuffed ham and fried oysters which, apparently both have some sort of connection to not just somd but, St. Mary's in particular. Salad was fine. Blue cheese.

The oysters were perfect and I am picky about them, too. Great meals and the ham didn't kill me. Yet.

Oh yeah, and we, as beer lovers, had this giant glass tube full of beer, 100 ounces, they bring to your table with was novel, interesting and, for us, very practical. Has it's own tap.

4.5 stars all the way around. Maybe more!

PS, we had another round of beers in the bar afterwards, great bar as well. Twin big sceens, nice little tables, and the bar itself is the original from before the remodel. And our beer wench was fun and engaging. And we, with other patrons, settled a key mystery of the universe; crusty mustard. It's a color. :buddies:

Lenny's! I'll be back for more!

We went there tonight after many years, way before the remodel.

Walking in, wow what a change! It looks really nice inside. As more people came in though, it started to get kind of loud. But then again, I didn't mind because I couldn't hear the table next to our's conversation.

We got the fried green beans and crab dip for appetizers. Yum! The crab dip was really good but very rich. The green beans were good too, like fried pickles without the twang.

For main courses, I had their tornedo imperial, medium. It comes with two pieces of steak with crab on top. One piece was cooked perfectly, the other well done, but both had an excellent taste. My dad got the jambalaya pasta. He said it was good. I tried a piece of chicken and it was a little dry. But the penne pasta had a good taste. Mom had the filet minon, ordered medium rare, came out well done but had a good taste so she didn't complain.

Overrall, the food was very good with no room for dessert. We'll definitely be going back again.

Good, but not consistant.

We went to Lenny's again last night, food was good, but the service lacking. When we arrived, we were one of two couples there and by the time we left, we were the only ones there so it certainly had nothing to do with them being too busy.
Drinks were ordered and received quickly, but once the meal was ordered everything took a long time. Salad came out late (right before main meal) and after finishing we sat there and sat there before the server finally came back and noticed that we were done.
Again, food was good so we'll be back, but we'll just make sure we are not in any kind of hurry at all.

DO NOT go to Lenny's Restaurant

I would not go back to Lenny's restaurant if somebody paid me!! We ordered what was supposedly "fresh" fish which clearly had been frozen and smelled disgusting!! Someone else in our party ordered prime rib which ended up being a huge piece of fat and grissle. The management was not receptive to any of our comments regarding our food.

I would never go there again and save yourself some time and money and don't go there either!
