Found this a few minutes ago posted over on Free Republic-- curiouser and curiouser. 🤔

The comments on the Freep thread are also very interesting.

This is the link to the Free Republic thread on that particular article...
Just a thought, any chance that some contacts from the previous National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, were added to Waltz's contact list?

Starting to seem like the rat is right there in front of everybody.
I asked my brother if he thought that Mike waltz was Deep State ... He said this

Freepers are crazy but Waltz said on global TV that he didn't know the journo, had never met him. If that turns out to not be true....

I said it before, he needs to get gone. I wouldn't wait for an investigation or whatever those people do to piss away time.

The absence of the anger or a swift firing is what tells me Trump is somehow okay with this. I'm just not sure why

Certainly put Europe on notice .... and has been mentioned several places, a way to send a message

1. Terrorists
2. Europe - support your own situation

I thought I heard him say to Laura (I think) that he might have seen him once but that the contact wasn't on his phone. *something like that.

I guess it will alll come out sooner or later!

?How did the reporter's number pollute the pool? From who's phone did it originate
are you asking me?

In the X post they surmise:
Apparently, it was not NSA Mike Waltz, but his deputy Alex Wong who created the Signal chat group to discuss the operation against the Houthis. It seems Wong invited cabinet members and added journalist Jeffrey Goldberg. Whether intentionally or by accident remains unknown.

There’s still a small voice in my head that says -

What person with an ounce of integrity stays on a line they KNOW they shouldn’t be on? Why didn’t he just leave?

And there you have your answer.
I'm just thinking, what would I do - or expect to happen - if by some circumstance I found MYSELF privy to a high profile meeting where they were discussing "war plans"?

What would happen to ME - if in the middle of the meeting - someone noticed "hey who's this Sam person listening in on everything"?

I'd be like that guy in HP:Goblet of Fire who happened to spy on Voldemort.

Is this a rhetorical question? 😂

As a reporter/journalist with any integrity, you would think he had an obligation to report... You know... actual news.

It certainly is news that somebody on the National Security team created a text chat thread with an "unknown" unauthorized person in it. I think that's definitely newsworthy. I also don't think it's wrong to say that the American public SHOULD know about a major faux pas Eff Up like this.

Any journalist on the "right side of the aisle" would have reported it -had it been Biden's team.

This journalist chose to handle it in a sensational manner by sitting on it until the day before this big hearing was held. If he wasn't trying to make thew ABOUT HIMSELF, he would have just broken the story.

Well some of it -

I'm just thinking any number of times, I've been in a location where I overheard stuff I shouldn't have heard - or walked into a room unexpectedly to find someone naked and changing their clothes or opening an outhouse door and see someone on the can.

And I refrained not because I have a great deal of integrity, but more along the lines of - if I am seen, heard or observed hearing or seeing this, I am going to be in serious doo doo.

And I just read that - pretty much all of the "sensitive" information he saw - was announced by Hegseth to the press right before the attacks, along with names and locations and type of planes.

IF it was all accidental, it seems no harm no foul.

Which is another reason I'm thinking - this might have been a set up to get to that Alex Wong guy.

Or not. And Waltz should go, like Vrai and all the others say.

That's why I asked my brother last night what he thought. He's my political guru connection since my dad passed away. He thinks it's not Waltz's fault at all.
