There’s still a small voice in my head that says -

What person with an ounce of integrity stays on a line they KNOW they shouldn’t be on? Why didn’t he just leave?

I'm not going to blame the journo. He's a slimy POS liar, but he was handed a scoop on a silver platter and he took it. You can't really blame him for that. A Rightie journo would have done the same thing if it were Biden. Hell, a Rightie journo would have done the same thing if it were Trump.

Which is another reason I'm thinking - this might have been a set up to get to that Alex Wong guy.

Or not. And Waltz should go, like Vrai and all the others say.

That's why I asked my brother last night what he thought. He's my political guru connection since my dad passed away. He thinks it's not Waltz's fault at all.
I think it was Greg on The Five where the gist of it was - despite the "gravity" of this - it is

a) Extraordinarily trivial in comparison the myriad things that happened under Biden - for example, Afghanistan - and the hubris of Hillary to say ANYTHING when she had government data flowing through her basement server - but

b) The net result of ALL OF THAT - was nothing. Nobody's head rolled. NOTHING happened.

So what does it mean if, this kind of thing sends Republicans into a death spiral EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS?
Same thing that happens if you give your kid money when they whine about it - or give your dog a treat when they complain -

It means it never ends. As long as you roll over and let the Dems and lefties give you a beating every time this happen, it means they will never stop the petty crap - because it works.

What the Republicans ought to do - and I hope they do - is tell them all to go pound sand. Oh they'll say worse than Watergate or some such - worst breach in history, thereby forgetting stuff like - oh - 9/11. Or Lloyd Austin disappearing for TEN DAYS and no one knew anything.

They depend on a rabid TDS public with short memories.

No, keep Waltz. Tell the left to go back to - whatever it is they do. Kurt Schlichter called it journalisitic onanism.

The left always complains about 'loyalty' regarding Trump and his cabinet picks and advisors. As long as Trump's happy and still has confidence in his abilities, Waltz stays. If something negative comes out in the internal WH/DOGE investigation, Waltz is gone.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

I'm just thinking, what would I do - or expect to happen - if by some circumstance I found MYSELF privy to a high profile meeting where they were discussing "war plans"?

What would happen to ME - if in the middle of the meeting - someone noticed "hey who's this Sam person listening in on everything"?

I'd be like that guy in HP:Goblet of Fire who happened to spy on Voldemort.

I never held any security clearances, save while serving in the Army, and was always escorted by personnel when visiting certain government/military buildings/places. I've been exposed numerous times to secret/top secret information in my career when I shouldn't have been. Either by overhearing or seeing certain exposed documents or projects. I just kept my mouth shut and went about my business and focused on the job I was sent to do. Never, ever, did I think to use such to my advantage, or tell what I saw or heard, to anyone. It wasn't just about the 'what if I got caught' why I never divulged what I saw or heard. It was none of my business for one. For another, these were national security issues/intel. Who was I to try to say what-was-what without knowing the full picture? And even if I did know the full picture, agreeing or disagreeing with it, I would never betray my Nation for some notoriety, or profit, as this fukwad traitorous Goldberg has done.

All anyone needs to know about this traitorous scum is that his loyalties lie elsewhere.

I've always thought journalists should have a sense of duty to their country if they find out something they shouldn't by accident or whatever that might be some sort of security issue to make contact with someone that can make the judgement whether they should release the info or not.

For example, finding out the President is having an affair - nobody needs to be contacted to release
finding out we are planning to invade Switzerland - make contact with someone in government assigned to handle such things before instead of just putting it on the internet

Journalists used to have a sense of loyalty to their country, even if they disagreed with it.

Not since the Pentagon Papers, which was considered as being loyal to the country, but not loyal to the governing body.

As a reporter/journalist with any integrity, you would think he had an obligation to report... You know... actual news.

This is a cheeky throwaway, I'm not criticizing you ...

We are talking about Goldberg, that dude has LESS integrity then the average lefty ...

Shortly before the 2020 election, Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg published a sensational, anonymously-sourced rumor that then-President Donald Trump had referred to soldiers interred at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery as “suckers” and “losers.” In response, 25 people — 14 of whom were with the president in France — went on the record to call the story a hoax and debunk its claims.

Oh I know. But I was responding to Sam's comment about integrity...

Yeah... he could have just reported the news but he didn't he had to make it all about him.

Trump is basically doing that every single day. He's just not using the same language that he did his first administration!
