Just got this email from Bank of America:

The nearby financial center at 21800 North Shangri La Drive, Unit 22, Lexington Park, MD you may have visited in the past or where you opened your account will officially close on 09/26/2023. Your account will stay the same, and we have specialists ready to provide you with the advice and guidance you need.

I would have hoped they would at least leave the ATM there but doesn't seem like that's the case. Guess I'll have to drive up to Mechanicsville if I need something in person.

Sigh.
When they closed the Lusby branch they closed the ATM also, then about 5 years later they put a new ATM in the Weis parking lot.

I advise everyone to obtain a fireproof lockbox, and use it to keep a few months of living expenses in it, in cash.

Divide your bank deposits between two different banks.
Banks can and will freeze access to your account because a computer detects "suspicious activity" which is perfectly legitimate!
