Does anyone have an opinion on their service department? I had my vehicle in on August 10th and was very unsatisfied with their service!

My mom has had to take her truck back 3 times and it is only a year and a half old, last time she took it they promised it would be fixed... her trans is still having the same problems. :boo:

well if they kept the same manager I would go somewhere else. I took my truck there to get an oil change and tires balanced and rotated and they told me that I you don't need to balance them when you rotate them unless there's a vibration..I've never heard that before I have always balanced them
when I had them rotated. Has anyone ever heard of that?? I have never liked the service there I always go to the one in Prince Frederick...Very good people there.....JMO

When it was under the other name, I took my vehicle there which was still under warranty to have the back window fixed. It wouldn't go down. I took it home and about a week later, it started the same thing periodically. Because it was during the winter months I didn't use the window and when the spring/summer came I decided to go ahead a get it fixed. I was two days out of my regular warranty and was into my extended warranty (which means I had to pay a copay) and they charged me the copay even though it wasn't fixed correctly the first time. They claim that it may have happened recently, etc, etc. Funny exact same window same problem. They wouldn't budge on it, so I had to pay the $100 copay and now the window is doing it again. You better believe, I'll take it some where else this time.

my brother said they suck they did more than they should have when all he wanted was an oil change and charged him when they never asked to do the work.

Always take mine to Prince Fred, but as far as balancing a tire when you rotate.....not really necessary unless you are having a vibration problem. They may need balancing just due to wear. Worn tires can be thrown out of balance. If it's in the front tires you might look at a front end alignment. Nothing set in stone. If you have a good mechanic they'll tell you. Prince Frederick Ford won't BS you.

The tires are balanced off the vehical. Moving them around doesn't change the balance. Unless there is a vibration problem which might indicate something out of balance, why fix it if it ain't broke.

And he paid for their unauthorized services? I would have refused.

The main reason I had wanted the tires balanced was that they had 15k on them and never had been touched. But it does make sense...I also will go to PF Ford they are very helpfull there.

Isn't it Aldridge Ford? And doesn't a hot forumite work there?
P.S. I'd never drive a Ford so I've never had any problems there. :yay:

If they operate anything like Leonardtown Ford wer'e in trouble!! My wife took her car to them and they left the lug nuts loose on the right front wheel and it came off on Rt 5, tore the car up. The manager said things like that happen now and then! They fixed it but I will never buy another vehicle from them. Maybe if Hunt Ford is still around when I need a new car I'll use them.

Prince Frederick, Leonardtown, Aldridge (formerly), Indian Head and Waldorf Ford are all owned by the same person.

Bought my vehicles and have them serviced at Prince Fred Ford. Never had a problem with them, warrantees or anything else. Last truck was a '91 Ford Ranger and it's still running, but the underbody is rusted out due to all the dayum salt Southern Maryland puts on their roads for no dayum good reason.

To my karma giver, that is VERy true, but to an extent, I don't see me having some of the issues others say they have... Now its a vehicle, and in order for the companies to keep making money after the sale, of course something will need to go wrong, I just don't see me getting the run around though like some may
