When you preach environmentalism and demand this compliance from others, then when it comes time to act yourself... How do you explain that away?
It's one of those, "I don't live there so I don't really care." If they want to be hypocrits, let them.

The problem with "let them" is Kennedy, and the ilk, make laws that affect our lives. He'll dump a windmill farm in our backyards while refusing to allow the same in his own. You are either for cleaner air or you're not. You are either for ethics or not.

It's funny how we have become accustomed to accepting the hypocrisy of our reps and have been reduced to "let them".

That's fine, but those people vote and give money to candidates to push their liberal agendas through. So if they don't want the low-rent types in *their* backyard, guess where they'll want to put them?

That's right - in *your* backyard.

Personally, I wouldn't care. Not interested in some halfway house going up in my neighborhood, but low income workers who are just trying to find affordable housing - bring 'em. They can't be any worse than the over-indulged teenagers that roam like packs of animals without parental supervision.

Does kind of point out the hypocrisy of labelling conservatives and Republicans as heartless rich brats who want nothing to do with being near riff-raff and don't believe in being charitable - and yet we get to see this.

And you know, I wouldn't want it on my street, either. My house is mortgaged out the wazoo to pay for a lot of stuff, and I can't afford to have its resell value drop while paying stuff against it, and paying taxes based on some absurd estimate. It's just that when *I* do it, it's cause I'm a bigot; when they do it - well no one talks about why they do it.

I better call Teddy K. We just found our next spot for a windmill farm.
