I run a fishing show, the Solomons Fishing Fair, at the Solomons Firehouse, on March 24 and 25, from 8am- 3pm, Both days.

Even though I run it... I have to say that it's a totally awesome fishing show. Definetly the best one in our area, with tons of vendors and good prices. It's also a great place to sell your used boat.

The vendor spaces are pretty much sold out, but we have spaces available to park your used boat near the entrance of the show for only $30 each. It's a great way to sell a boat you don't need anymore. I invite some boat dealers to bring boats, but I really like to see the used boats... I guess I like looking for a deal.

To everyone out there interested in this show, it IS awesome...and I'm not just saying that because the guy that runs it is my brother.

Last year my husband and I had a booth there for my husband's company that does decorative stainless steel metal work. We sold custom rod holders and advertised stainless steel fish cleaning tables (and custom kitchens) and got quite alot of business from it. It was definitely worth the time and we aren't even fisherman. All the vendors were great and there were tons of customers!

Even if you aren't a vendor or don't have a boat to sell, $2 to get in is a steal and definitely worth a look...

I'm pretty sure the Hollywood boat show is April 7-8. You'll see signs up as soon as the Fishing Fair Signs come down.

See I thought I saw a sign on 235 but can't remember. Heading up to waldorf from the base this afternoon so I will be looking.

This sounds like what Hubby and I have needed since we moved down here a year ago. Both of us learned to fish when very young... and haven't done it since! [Me, I went with my father one evening... he caught 1 fish, I caught 12. He never took me fishing again.]

We tried to drop lines off a pier last year... all Hubby caught was himself; I managed to finally get line in water. But nothing happened.

I don't even know anyone around here yet to ask for lessons.
