And I think the most frustrating thing my brat does now is anytime my husband and I are trying to have a discussion it's "mommy, mommy..." And I try to tell him to stop but nothing seems to be working .. :cds:

Hard to do - but try ignoring him. You've probably already explained that he should not interrupt when people are talking. 2yo's have no patience. :jet: (like you don't know this!) However, since he already knows it is not polite to interrupt - do NOT reply - no matter what! Get up and walk away if you have to. Then, when he is NOT interrupting you, praise him for being so polite.

Hopefully, this will help break the cycle.

I know it's to the point my husband just walks away and says forget it, I'll tell you later, which is a failure and I get that.

You smack their a$$ and tell them to STFU.

I heard, "What..do you think money grows on trees"? When I used this same phrase on my Daughter, she said, "Yes, it does"! She's an Educator now!!

Your vocabulary will grow if you have another child.

STOP hitting your sister!

We don't push people!

Your sister was playing with that toy, give it back!

Stop locking your sister in the bathroom!

Etc.

My kids are a pair of smartasses.

Are you stupid???
Yes.

What part of "NO" didn't you understand?
The O?

This family trait has been inherited by my grandson.

No treat for you.
I'll behave! I promise!
When did you intend to start?
.... Soon....

Why are you acting like that??
Because I'm naughty.

If you keep making that face, it's going to freeze that way.

I have (kind of) a funny story about this. My mom used to say that all of the time to me. When I was in about the 3rd grade, my mom decided I could stop at a corner candy store on my way home from school (I was a walker and the world was safe back then). The first time I went in the store, the owner behind the counter was a man with ALS - his mouth was frozen open in an O and he had pretty bad tremors. I took one look at him, realized my mom wasn't kidding and ran out of the store.

Shame on me for giggling!

For reasons I'm not sure of - this works.

I stand close to them and say threateningly - please, DO THAT AGAIN. Right in front of me. Do it right now. I'm waiting.

For some reason, they're too scared to do it twice.

The other one is, come here, I want you to see how it feels when someone does it to you. It will only be a second. Come here.
