Linda Kelley is out!

SouthernMdRocks

R.I.P. Bobo, We miss you!
Linda Kelley is the one commissioner that cares about the animals and tries to make improvements to the tri county animal shelter. She is also involved with the new low cost spay/ neuter/ wellness pet clinic that should be open soon in Huntingtown.
Though that may not matter to most, it matters a lot to me.

Linda Kelley is an animal lover, too bad she lost..:ohwell:

and people think Linda Kelley is a nutball. And that is all I have to say about that.

Honestly, is there a story with him? I met him at a fundraiser for Lollar in the summer. His campaign manager was very engaging that day & talked a bit with my friend and I, as well. He seemed like the kind of guy you knew from someplace. Mr. S drove all over the county meeting people this summer, too, I've heard. I've only seen him a couple of times and have not heard anything weird about him.

I saw him the other night at the election night function and he was escorting his elderly father out to the restrooms. It was very touching to see him tending to his dad that way.

Yes she cares a lot...she did a lot for feral cat colonies in calvert also. Shes a neat person.

The other commissioners aren't animal lovers?

With all due respect, as I am a lover of animals, there are many more (important) issues in this county which affect the taxpaying citizens of Calvert County than animal rights and such.

Animal "rights" should not trump taxpayers' rights. Certainly, most taxpayers are not "one issue" voters either.

As I originally said-"Though that may not matter to most, it matters a lot to me". I do not know of other commissioners' stand on animals as I have never seen them involved in anything animal related.
Nor am I implying there are not more important issues.

But from the business I am in and the places I choose to donate to, support and volunteer at- the overpopulation of animals is a very serious problem here and there are things that can be done to lessen the severity of it. A lot of it does not cost the county taxpayers money such as the low cost spay/neuter/well pet clinic. But Linda is still involved.

As one who has never had 2 legged children, I have never concerned myself with the problems with schools but I do see the importance of them. And I have paid plenty of taxes to support them! With a lot of kids I see lately, I also see the importance of having more police and building more jails!!
