I thought the person who did the actual selling to a minor could face fines or jail as well? Is that not the case?
That's what I thought as well but I haven't found anything that says that. But they can find another job easily but the store owner potentially has their business and livelihood shut down.vraiblonde said:I thought the person who did the actual selling to a minor could face fines or jail as well? That was the case 10 years ago when I was working in an establishment where I sold liquor. I actually had to take classes and we were told that we would be fined somewhere in the thousands of dollars (I cannot remember the exact figure, but it was thousands), would have to go to court and could face possible jail time.vraiblonde said:I thought the person who did the actual selling to a minor could face fines or jail as well? They can be issued a citation and fined under § 10-119 of the Criminal Law code. The violation is under § 10-117 for furnishing alcohol to an underage person, first offense up to $1000, subsequent offense up to $1500.vraiblonde said:I thought the person who did the actual selling to a minor could face fines or jail as well? This is funny. Last night I had one of those calls that comes in that says it is unidentifiable or something. Anyway, it doesn't show the # or caller ID. So I answered "Hola". The woman asked if I spoke english. I said "no, I don't". She apologized and hung up.bdh802 said:This is irritating, isn't it? I have no problem asking them if there is someone there I can talk to that speaks english, explaining to them that it's nothing personal but I really don't want to spend all day on the phone trying to figure out what they are saying. Sometimes the accent is so bad, I find myself asking them repeat everything. This is frustrating.
