A lot of it has to do with the hands, but there's always room for little  !

from msnbc.com:

"Federal Security Director for the TSA - George Naccara, denied earlier reports that she was carrying lotion, a screw driver, matches and a note referencing al-Qaida. He said he did not believe any items she was carrying were the cause of the outburst."

So, where did this information come from?

A Fox analyst is wondering how a screwdriver got past security.

But hey - they DID confiscate her lipstick!

:jameo:

Must have been uncomfortable to sit there with the screwdriver hidden up her, um.....

Fox News is trying to figure out where all that information came from. Much of it appears to be untrue. They're saying she did not have those earlier mentioned items in her possession.....

She appears to be a 60 year old woman who became claustrophobic in the narrow confines of the airplane, and lost control of her emotions.

A lot of second guessing going on.........should they have scrambled the F-15s to escort the plane to Logan Airport is being discussed.

I don't know what the expense is, scrambling those armed fighters, but it can't be cheap!

so, they think that there might be an issue on a plane that could cause either a crash or an explosion killing billions of people.
so they divert the flight from its original destination and send it to Boston.

think the people in Boston are feeling just a bit less than important right now?

Well, they would have let it thru to Dulles but Bush heard that Kerry had left DC and was in Boston.

I have as much sympathy as the next when it comes to folks and their "illnesses-BUT if you KNOW you’re claustrophobic and there isn't enough meds to sedate you for a flight-take a plucking cruise ship or a cargo steamer!
Even I can’t stand the confines of a plane/jet but jeez Louise how often does this have to happen! :cussing:

I have a bit of a problem in confined spaces too (comes from all those years in solitary confinement)
anyway, a few years back we were on the flight from San Juan to Baltimore on an almost empty flight, with all the open seats, there was this rather large women that was sitting in the Isle seat right next to my wife, I was in the window seat.
The guy in front of me decided to put his seat back and left me with no room to move, I started getting that panic feeling.
I asked the women on the isle seat to please let me out so I could take one of the empty seats, she said no. she wasnt moving.
I asked her again. she said no.
I understand that in todays security flushed world I would have been arrested for walking across her to get out, but at that time other than a caution from a stewardess not to do it again, I was free to sit in a seat that allowed me not to kill people.

maybe they should have just force fed that women some drinks and stuck her in first class in a seriously sedated state.

OK, now ABC News is reporting that the 60 year old woman, Katherine Mayo from Vermont, did in fact have the vasiline and 4 click-type lighters on her person.

She's got issues all right!

:lmao: My mom is coming out Sept. 3. I think I'll ask her to bring me shampoo, screwdrivers, vaseline, box cutters, and Al Qaeda literature. That should keep her tied up until I get to go back to work on the 5th.

Don't forget to include lipstick, perfume, and hand lotion... should make CNN and ground flights all across the United States. :sarcasm:
