Long Shadows

I took this at about 5:30 this evening. Our summer is ending and the shadows are starting to stretch longer as our evenings get shorter.

I took the shot with a new camera and am still working out how to best use the settings.

This was handheld, holding my breath and praying for a good result.

Thanks...I mostly shoot for me and whatever may catch my attention. I like textures and contrast and wish I had a better eye. I don't know whether it was the contrast of the light or the double martini that I was finishing, but when I turned from the bbq grill, this just caught my eye. Luckly I had just been fiddling with the camera and it was handy.

Panasonic Lumix FZ100. I got tired of toting lenses (and paying for them). This one does everything I need it to and is easier to take traveling.
