Anyhoo, you know a song is good when it can groove through the decade and through the voices..

Aww, I believe you because I think you would really watch that movie.. :roflmao: but it's okay, you are forgiven.
IMO J-Lo can't act her way out of a paper bag.

I was curious, so I looked it up. It was an artist named RES (Shareese Renee Ballard) not JLo.

:yay: But the power in Grace Slick's voice in her prime STILL gives me goosebumps.

Actually, I agree with you on her acting capabilities, or lack thereof.. HOWEVER, Norah Jones had a cameo in the film and she's my favorite, like totally, fer real, fer sure dude.

Now for a change of pace...

heard this during the lunch drive today...

Ow, she's a brick house
She’s mighty, mighty, just lettin' it all hang out
Ow, she's a brick house
I like ladies stacked, that's a fact, ain't holdin' nothin' back
Ow, she's a brick house
Well-built together, everybody knows, this is how the story goes

She knows she's got everything
That a woman needs to get a man, yeah, yeah
How can she lose, good stuff she use
36-24-36, what a winning hand

'Cause she's a brick house
She's mighty, mighty, just lettin' it all hang out
Hey, she's a brick house
Oh, I like ladies stacked, that's a fact, ain't holdin' nothin' back
Oh, she's a brick house, yeah
She's the one, the only one, built like an amazon

Mmm, the clothes she wear, her sexy ways
Make a old man wish for younger days, yeah, yeah
She knows she's built and knows how to please
Sho'nuff can knock a strong man to his knees

'Cause she’s a brick house
Yeah, she's mighty, mighty, jJust lettin' it all hang out
Hey, brick house
I like a lady's stacked, that's a fact, ain't holdin' nothin' back, ow

Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, down, down

Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, ow

Brick house
Yeah, she's mighty, mighty, just lettin' it all hang out
Ow, a brick house
Yeah she's the one, the only one, built like an amazon, yeah

Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it, shake it

Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it down, down
Shake it down, shake it down, shake it

Ow, a brick house

Eh, I don't judge when it comes to movies - USUALLY... Men's stereotypical genre crapola bugs me... for lengthy reasons - try getting a good soundtrack out of it!!!

I bet "Shall We Dance" has a good soundtrack!! I'll watch it soon and we can post under the other section/thread - and put songs here!

You're welcome. Thanks for the kudos :huggy: and I return the compliment.

I owe a lot of my music tastes to having the most fantastic band director in high school, who opened up the world's music to a bunch of hick kids in Smallville, USA. Classical, jazz, big band, Russian...you name it, he gave it to us and helped us to explore the world of music. I am eternally grateful to him. :notworthy

My favorite Billy Idol tune...

I'm all out of hope
One more bad dream could bring a fall
When I'm far from home
Don't call me on the phone
To tell me you're alone
It's easy to deceive
It's easy to tease
But hard to get release

Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.

I spend so much time
Believing all the lies
To keep the dream alive
Now it makes me sad
It makes me mad at truth
For loving what was you

Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.

When you hear the music you make a dip
Into someone else's pocket then make a slip.
Steal a car and go to Las Vegas oh, the gigolo pool.
I'm on a bus on a psychedelic trip
Reading murder books tryin' to stay hip.
I'm thinkin' of you you're out there so
Say your prayers.
Say your prayers.
Say your prayers.

Now I close my eyes
And I wonder why
I don't despise
Now all I can do
Is love what was once
So alive and new
But it's gone from your eyes
I'd better realise

Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.
Such a human waste your eyes without a face
And now it's getting worse.

Back to the tunes..Enigma

"The Rivers Of Belief"

Take me back to the rivers of belief
Take me back to the rivers of belief
my friend
I look inside my heart
I look inside my soul
I promise you
I will return
And when the Lamb opened the seventh seal
silence covered the sky
Take me back to the rivers of belief
Take me back to the rivers of belief
my friend
I look inside my heart
I look inside my soul
I'm reaching out for you
Lets hope one day
We'll rest in peace
on my rivers of belief

"Why! ..."

I was childish and unfair
To you, my only friend
I regret, but now it's too late
I can't show you any more
The things I've learned from you
Cause life just took you away
I'm asking why
I'm asking why
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking why
But someday we'll meet again
And I'll ask you
I'll ask you why
Why it has to be like this
I'm asking you why
Please give me an answer
Many years and stupid fights
Till we accept to see
How it was and it'll always be
Why it has to be like this
Why we don't realize
Why we're too blind to see the one
Who's always on our side
I'm asking why
I'm asking why
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking why
Just tell me why Why it has to be like this
That the good ones disappear
I'm asking you why
I'm asking why
I'm asking why
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking why
I'm asking why

Big Voice behind the original Jefferson Airplane. Who can forget this song...

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all.
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall.
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall,
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call.
Call Alice
When she was just small.
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low.
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know.
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead,
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said:
"Feed your head. Feed your head. Feed your head"

I know it sounds funny but I just can't stand the pain
Girl I'm leaving you tomorrow
Seems to me girl you know I've done all I can
You see I beg, stole, and I borrowed
Yeah!

That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like Sunday morning
It's why I'm easy
Easy like Sunday morning

I wanna be high
So high
I wanna be free to know the things I do are right
I wanna be free
Just me
Oh babe!

It's why I'm easy
Easy like Sunday morning
It's why I'm easy
Easy like Sunday morning

but --- at points, my mind drifted to disco... maybe time for a disco wake up... we'll see what the a.m. brings..

Why wait for a wake-up

To my surprise one hundred storeys high
People getting loose now, getting down on the roof
Folks screaming, out of control
It was so entertaining when the boogie started to explode
I heard somebody say

(burn baby burn) disco inferno
(burn baby burn) burn that mother down
(burn baby burn) disco inferno
(burn baby burn) burn that mother down

Satisfaction came in a chain reaction
I couldn’t get enough, so I had to self-destruct
The heat was on, rising to the top
Everybody is going strong, and that is when my spark got hot
I heard somebody say

(burn baby burn) disco inferno
(burn baby burn) burn that mother down
(burn baby burn) disco inferno
(burn baby burn) burn that mother down

Up above my head
I hear music in the air
That makes me know
There’s a party somewhere

(just can’t stop) when my spark gets hot
(just can’t stop) when my spark gets hot

Oh why not...

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man: no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around
since I was born.
And now it's all right. It's OK.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
the New York Times' effect on man.

Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother,
you're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin',
and we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive.

Well now, I get low and I get high,
and if I can't get either, I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes.
I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose.
You know it's all right. It's OK.
I'll live to see another day.
We can try to understand
the New York Times' effect on man.

Need I say I love you
Need I say I care
Need I say that emotion’s,
Something we don’t share
I don’t want to be sitting here
Trying to deceive you
Cos you know I know baby
That I don’t wanna go.

We cannot live together
We cannot live apart
That’s the situation
I’ve known it from the start
Every time that I look at you
I can see the future
Cos you know I know babe
That I don’t wanna go.

Throwing it all away
Throwing it all away
Is there nothing that I can say
To make you change your mind
I watch the world go round and round
And see mine turning upside down
You’re throwing it all away.

Now who will light up the darkness
Who will hold your hand
Who will find you the answers
When you don’t understand
Why should I have to be the one
Who has to convince you
Cos you know I know baby
That I don’t wanna go.

Someday you’ll be sorry
Someday when you’re free
Memories will remind you
That our love was meant to be
Late at night when you call my name
The only sound you’ll hear
Is the sound of your voice calling
Calling after me.

Just throwing it all away
Throwing it all away
There’s nothing I can say
We’re throwing it all away
Yes we’re throwing it all away...
