I never met/heard of Angela but I've only been going there for 2 years. Maybe she was there before then, not sure how long ago your last visit was.
Janet is the NP there and I love her to death! She's so thorough. I go every six months to make sure I'm skin cancer free. As far as I know it's just her and the two docs.

I was there about 2 months ago, but before that it was 8 months ago. I go every 6 months as well bc i was a lifeguard for 10 year and get paranoid about my moles.
Do you know Janets last name?

Her last name is Benton. Wow, so 8 months ago Angela was also there? I normally go to the PF office but have gone to the one in Leonardtown a couple of times also. Shows how perceptive I am, I never knew there was an Angela working there.
It's my moles I'm worried about also. I grew up on Long Island, it's basically a big beach. I spent all summer and every possible weekend at the beach, on a boat, outdoors at all the state parks, etc. My Dad had issues with a mole, unfortunately it was caught too late. So now I'm paranoid.
i got to dr.triana and hartlys office in l-town. Last time I was there i saw the np and she was very nice and told me i didn't need to come back for 2yrs as my moles looked ok.
Ugh! First a mammo and now a dermo check.... another appointment I have to make. That's great, glad you're being proactive! I keep having to have moles removed but they've all been pre-cancerous so I guess that's better than the alternative. I swear, she finds the smallest moles/freckles that look like nothing. I tell all my friends/family to get the the dermo and get checked. I never did, until my Dad was diagnosed with melanoma. We were told that had he gotten checked out sooner, he would still be here with us.

So, Janet is in Saini's office?? Yeah, i had been seeing Angela for about 2 years and when i showed up to my last appointment, they informed me about her not working there anymore. I didn't stay to have a Dr. see me bc i was a little annoyed that they didn't feel the need to call and imform me that my NP had left...
I hear ya, i'm paranoid also. Sorry to hear about your dad. Glad you're being proactive. It's one of those things, it's scary to go, but hopefully worth it in the long run

You know what, things make more sense now. You quoted someone who said they went to Drs Trianna and Hartley's office so I thought that's where you went too.![]()
No, I go to Southern MD Skin Specialists. They have offices in Prince Frederick and Leonardtown and the wait for the NP (Janet) usually isn't hateful. I find that if you make an appointment for when they open or right after they get back from lunch, the wait is very short. Well, if you can't find Angela, try Janet.

haha..gotcha!
Thanks for the info on Janet, think i'll end up checking her out since i've heard a few good reviews about her....again, thanks!
I am sorry you lost your daddy to cancer. I have had 1 precancerous one removed. Went back in and they had to do surgery on my back to get the rest of it and 10 stitches later (which 5 enbeded in my back because they were left in too long).I been lucky and haven't had any more scares just 1 so far. I guess I count myself lucky every day.
Just curious, how long were your stitches in that they were in too long? I'm supposed to get out stitches tomorrow from a precancerous mole surgery. *nervous*
I'd highly recommend Janet Benton (NP) at Southern Maryland Skin Specialists in Leonardtown as well. I was in there for another reason and asked her about a mark that I thought was suspicious. Glad I did. She is very thorough in checking all my other marks too to make sure there wasn't anything else. She also explained things very thoroughly and I never felt "rushed" with her. I've heard good things about the 2 other doctors there too, but its a longer wait.
