it seems like there aren't nearly as many good names for boys as for girls! any suggestions of where to look for a good list?

We bought the book 50,000 baby names. It helped out.

We got a similar book but we had soo much trouble naming our first son. We knew what his middle name was going to be - After my father - but had trouble on the 1st.

One night we went out to eat @ Outback and I was overdue and the lady asked if we had a name yet and we told her 'no' we were undecided. She goes on to tell us she likes names that can be used for boys and girls and she spewed out a name and I just said THAT'S IT :yahoo: I'd never seen in it any books, although LOTS of kids are named it now. :yay: So I hate to say it, but basically our first son was named by a waitress at Outback :lmao:

Our twins names came pretty easily. The boy twin carries my hubby's father's name. Our daughter is not named after anyone.

Good luck and Congrats :howdy:

thanks for the advice everyone! the girl was named after 2 of my favorite literary characters, but none of the boys'names that I can think of have really struck a chime for us yet.

For our son my husband wanted a jr and I wasn't a fan of that idea so we agreed upon a middle name but picked his name out of the baby name book we bought.

It my girl was a boy she would have been Aiden or Blake. Try babycenter.com - they have decent lists.

 If my son was a girl it would have either been Caroline from Little House on the Praire or Scarlett from Gone with the Wind.

I heart CLeValley
Of course Clevalley will chime in and suggest his all time favorite - Leon if its a boy and Noel if its a girl. And his second favorite - Richard - so you can call him little dick when he is small. :lmao:

BeenSpur'd

I love her wild,wild hair
:howdy: I named all my kids after famous cowboys/cowpeople. My youngest, a daughter, didn't like the fact that she was named after a man but I think it's cute and so don't all the boys that seem to drool after her. So I have two boys, Cody & Garrett and the girl is Carson. The next boy would of been named Wyatt or girl would of been Oakley after Annie Oakley but I'm through having kids and only raise horses now. It's a lot easier picking out horses names and a lot cheaper to raise horses.........

Are you Catholic? Some priest will not baptize a child if they don't have a catholic name.

Don't name boys with gender neutral names, it could actually affect them.
