Looking to buy 32" flat screen TV, advice please.

Katelin

one day the dark will end
My 32", CRT is slowly dying, it is about 14 years old and I am getting signs that the screen/crt is failing.
So I am starting to learn about flat screens, or whatever that are currently called.

I want one 32-36", that hooks up to my Comcast cable box. Nothing fancy.
I do not have (nor feel a need for) HDTV, so I wont be using it for that feature. Price: $300.00 range.

What do you have and what do you recommend?
I looked at Vizio and Samsung. Both seem fine companies and the tvs are so much the same too.
How long will one of these last? ( Somehow I doubt 14+ years!! LOL)

Thanks!! :howdy:

If you have a choice between Vizio and Samsung in the same price bracket, choose Samsung. Go over to costco.com and read some of the vizio TV reviews.

Very happy with my Samsung, bought it at best buy, stopped at walmart on way home it was $100 cheaper, went right back to best buy and got the $100 off it.

Super Genius
Go to BestBuy and look at the TVs from different companies. We actually went with Sharp because it looked the best to us. Also, keep in mind that your CRT TV had a different aspect ratio from a flat panel (BTW, I think LED is better than LCD or Plasma), so when you mention a 32" diagonal dimension, a 32" flat panel is going to be shorter and wider than a 32" CRT.
