8apples, do you think your kitty might be hanging around the area? Reason I ask is, I just moved here in June, and a week later, my cat Conan slipped out of the house. I thought he was lost forever until I saw him a couple weeks later hanging around the back yard. His silly butt was too scared to come back in. I guess being outside, his feral instincts kicked in. I tried to catch him, to no avail, but I kept food and water out there for him.
I finally ordered a safe and humane cat/coon trap off of eBay. The first night, I caught a possum who was none to pleased about the situation. I swear, I thought a skunk would be next, but lo and behold, four mornings later, my Conan was in there! He is back in the house safe and sound!
Now, I heard that the local animal shelters or animal services folks will loan out a trap, but I had no luck in Calvert County. St. Mary's might be different.
Are you in a situation where this might work?
I hope you find him soon!
