Loud boom that shook house

In the early 80s double sonic boom right over my house broke about 1000 square feet of glass on the front of my passive solar house.....The pilots actually came to my door to apologize ! But of course the powers that be on base denied my damage claim. The pilots really were not at fault as it was a very cold day and the density of the air and the degree of their simultaneous turn caused the boom. Glass didn't shatter so much as broke all the seals on the double panes and they gathered moisture after that.

^That^ In the US an aircraft has to be above 30,000 feet unless in special airspace or have specific approval by FAA to go supersonic.
They don't even allow that, not over or close to inhabited areas.
That's one of the restrictions that brought an end to the Concorde flights.
They could only go supersonic over the water.

I was going to be a smart azz and say it was the balloon popping, but cornpop shot that down a week earlier.
