Not mine, but I do know who you are talking about. Very good rider.

Here is mine.

Your bike is really nice too. Yours is the classic right? I saw one just like it at the dealer...

I want the CC mainly for the fairing and the radio. I like the way it looks being a former street glide rider not too long ago. Not to offend my HD riding brothers but the CC looks like a modernized more attractive version of a street glide.... Put simply it's a beautiful and well made machine! I want one but may end up waiting until next year. Dam furloughs!

Classic LE (#258 of 300). The LEs were only done in 2012. The newer classics are basically the same, but different paint.

Understood. I would trade my CR for a CC tour IF my wife were more into riding with me and going on longer trips. But, for solo riding I prefer my CR.

So would you buy another one? What would you tell an old fart and HD guy like me for considering a Vic?

Absolutely I would buy another one. I'm not a wrench by any means so the less maint., the better and my understanding is that Vic takes MUCH less maint than HD does. Also, 9 out of 10 bikes on the road seem to be cruisers and I like something different. There is a YouTube video explaining the difference between Vic and HD trannys. Worth a look.

I've been to the VOG website and it seems like there is quite a bit of whining there over nickel and dime stuff. Good thing most of those guys never owned an HD!

Yep I've looked at some of the youtube videos. For the record my HD's were always for the most part reliable, but when they did break they were very expensive to fix. I can do a lot of my own wrenching on the Vic from what I've read. Oil changes seem much more simple, The belt seems like it would be very easy to replace as would the clutch cable. These are all things which would require many hours of work on an HD (minus the oil changes). I would expect the total cost of ownership on a Victory to be significantly lower than HD. My fellow HD buddies have been giving me a hard time lately about considering a Victory and I could care less. I doubt they'll be able to keep up once I make the switch. I even think the Vision is a cool looking bike and does look extremely comfortable and capable for a long trip. Do I dare go all the way to a Vision? :buddies:

I took the ride like a pro class with 2 other Vic riders, both of them ladies. One had a Vision and one a CC. The lady on the Vision OWNED that bike on the course and it responded flawlessly to every input she gave it. No doubt it's a very capable bike, but some just can't get over the "spacey" sort of look to it. Personally, I'm on the fence. The lady on the CC was not as capable and dropped her rig twice, but that was her, not the bike. If I remember correctly, the CC has more storage than the Vision and that is certainly the case with the CCT.

Good luck on your choice.
