LT. Colonel Ralph Peters quits Fox News Propoganda machine

Okay, two questions here.

Let's deal with the second one first. Yes, Ralph did bring expertise to the table (as I said in my earlier post a few weeks back). But Ralph's tremendous strength was his strategic thinking and his blunt way of stating what war means, what it seeks to accomplish, and what it can't do. His non-fiction from 10-15 years back is good stuff. Not always correct (at the time or in hindsight), but it was thoughtful, provocative stuff. His expertise was NOT Russia (or things Russian), though. And that's what you're basing your comments on; his Russia(n) expertise.

Now, to the first question. Thank you for asking.

Not that I didn't have an opportunity to do some of those things (in public and/or behind the scenes). It wouldn't have been on Fox for what Ralph did on Fox, though, because my expertise was not Grand Strategy and that's what Fox hired him for. I could have gone on to do things in the Russia sphere or another area I was involved in, but decided against. In the end, I chose to retire (as a very senior and respected officer in my specialty) and go off the radar. Frankly, rather than seek further fame or fortune I decided to switch careers entirely and do things to help folks. Would still rather be off the radar, but times they are a bit crazy... (for instance, I would have preferred not to toot my own horn in this post or the previous one, but it was necessary to make the point that Ralph is not what he touts himself to be).

Have you ever read "Once An Eagle"? Might be worth your time if you haven't. Some folks are (clever) Massengales, some are (dumb) Damons. I'm in the latter group. I'll leave it to others to decide where Ralph belongs.

--- End of line (MCP)

I believe the Peters Principle has caught up with Col. Peters, and decided where he belongs now.

No. That is only reserved for you and Gilly ann who prove it daily. Not to people who take the time to write thoughtful comments.
