I PAID 2.74 FOR 89 OCTANE AT P.F. WAWA THIS AFTERNOON. HOW LONG WILL THIS KEEP UP!? :yahoo:

That's not good though. I drove pass that same WaWa yesterday didn't need gas but noticed regular was $2.61 not sure about the other grades. Prices must've went back up. It should be no more than $2.70 - $2.71 for 89...

if they can lower it that much for a price war, does that mean they are making that much at the regular price?

seems a little steep if you ask me.

How sad is it when we get excited about $2.55 a gallon gas? Wasn't all that long ago when we would have laughed at paying that much.

True but considering oil is just about at an all time high, you would think that a gallon would be $3+ based on the past couple years.

$2.48 at Lusby faststop yesterday evening.

I went to La Plata yesterday and saw a station there selling gas for $2.64 it shocked hell out of me.

The local store has it for $2.99

Problem is this : He got filled up at the higher cost and cant come down till he sells out the $2.99 gas. With other gas going for $2.79 now ,no one will stop there and it will keep his price up for the next two weeks.

In the past it was always the opposite; gas was more expensive in Calvert than St. Mary's. I thought it someting to do with higher local gas taxes

i think that had to do with the additive package that is mandated by the state for 'urban' areas. St marys being more or less the boondocks doesn't fall under this designation....

so i got no clue why it has reversed.

The only rational explanation is a price war. Either Gott is trying to drive the smaller stations out of business, or Wa-Wa is trying to ruin Gott. Either way, we consumers get a great deal for now.

Unfortunately, it may kill some of the competition, so in the long run we will be at the mercy of whoever survives.
