This sounds real serious. Hope no one was killed. Probably caused by someone talking on a cell lphone and trying to drive.

I wasn't.....I heard about it before I left DC and took 232 around the mess. :diva:
232? What road is that? I went the back way from Bryantown (I heard about the accident before I left work), Oliver Shop to Oak Rd., and the drive that normally takes an hour and a half took me an hour and 10 minutes.

I was on Oliver Shop Rd around 5 and it was packed. I hate it when they start rerouting people off Rte 5 to Oliver Shop...that's my normal commute (231 to Oliver Shop to Wheatley). You have all these people driving these roads who have no idea where they are....slowing down at every possible turn.

Is Oliver Shop Rd (Rte 232) the winding road and back route into St Mary's that you can get when you are coming Rte 5 and you take that cut-off path before the Camera light by the Shell Gas. It has a lot of hidden entrances and farm land, no lights until you get to Chaptico and you may see Amish people out and about.

I ask because if so, how do you get back to 235 from there. I have gone that way twice and always get weary of getting more lost so I just kept straight turn left to the route where the ATV and Raceway is and just go through Leonardtown to Lexington. But sometimes I would just like to get back on 235 once I am at Mechanicsville. TIA

Never said I was NEVER coming back I don't believe. Just that my postings would be greatly reduced since I rarely have time to post at home, and SoMD's server is blocked at work.

Oliver Shop Rd is the one by the the Shell station (Bryantown Mall) if you stay on Oliver Shop all the way till the end as you cross Rt. 6 (Charles St) it becomes Trinity Chruch Rd. which will take you to Rt. 234 (Budds Creek Rd.) and a left turn there will take you to Leonardtown. But if you want to get back to 235 or 5, you can take a couple of other routes. If your on Oliver Shop when you get to Oaks Rd.(right past 231 Burnt Store Rd) make a left on Oaks and follow it out to Rt. 5 you'll come out at Wentworths and the WaWa. The other option is follow Oliver Shop out to Rt. 6 (Charles St) at the stop sign make a left that will take you past Gilbert Run Park and bring you out at Rt. 5 at the llibrary , farmers market and the new bank on the corner.
