Pitty Party
Hey Second Hope

I'm still showing our love 2500 miles away. The bigger dog Mike :)shrug:) is a rescue. :smoochy: That's what he said. Also talking to him he said he is from Towson in Baltimore.

Those poor babys were shaking. It got down to 53 degrees being on the water. I said something and the homeless guy said Mike was scared. :smack: Ok!

I gave him $5 and told him I hope it goes towards there food.

What cute pics! Hopefully it will go toward their food, they look like he takes care of them.... If it gets too cold, at least he should be warm enough, it looks like a Three Dog Night....

Hmm...can we bring our own dogs to this? Just wondering before I change my plans for Saturday.

Yes, you can bring your own dogs as long as they have been spayed/neutered. Also, dogs must not be on a flex-leash (retractable). If that is all you have, we will have leashes at the gate for you to use during the time at the event. Hope to see you there!

OK I understand unix. I won't be bringing bruno as she is a baby and wants to play with other dogs and gets all excited she will be staying home if I come.

can i ask a question why can't they be on retractable leashes?

Having moved here from CA and having vended at many events there, ALL events I went to banned retractable leashes. It is too easy for a dog to go after another dog or get out of it's owners control; esp with big dogs. It also makes smaller dogs susceptible to attacks if you can't "reel them in" fast enough.

Recently at an adoption event at my store, someone dropped a retractable leash, it startled the dog and it took off; heading straight for 2/4. Fortunately, they got ahold of the dog before it got creamed by a car.

I ask people to retract them or use one of the leashes I provide while shopping. I have had a lot of damage and breakage due to people walking through the store and not watching what Fido or Fifi is doing while they were browsing. Recently, one of my newly stocked card racks was knocked over by a Jack Russell terrier whose owner was 10 feet away and was not paying attention. I lost several *brand new* cards and it tweaked the rack. Leg hikes are not
uncommon when people are not in control of their dogs as well.

I think I would be afraid of having my arm pulled out of its socket by a doggie determined to be someplace else fast!

If you let go of a retractable leash , it can potentially smack your dog hard enough to knock him/her out, or worse. We have the same rule at the Fido's For Freedom Stroll 'n Roll. Rope burn is definitely another drawback.
