MAMA/Motorcross

Does anyone have any experience with MAMA? My son is 13 and has had his CR85 for a year now and really wants to race. We've registered him for Tony D's 2 day school for May 12-13 and MAMA is holding a race on the 14th, thinking about letting him try it. (Both race and school are at Budd's Creek) Any ideas, suggestions, first hand accounts of what we can expect? TIA

My MAMA never let me race mine. She was afraid I'd get hurt. I plan on trying road racing this summer though. And ain't no MAMA gonna have anything to say about it this time

Do you mean the AMA (American Motorcyclist Association)? That's who sanctions and set the rules for motocross races in this country.

I believe MAMA is the "youth" organization, affiliated with the AMA. I'm sure it's MAMA I'm talking about, I went to their website just before posting my question.

Found it... http://www.mamamx.com/ Looks cool. I wish they had something like that when I was growing up. Of course, I'm thankful that I don't have arthritic limbs yet though too.
