I have to admit at least the mother isn't one of those mothers that never report things like this because they are either "in denial" or "but I love my husband/boyfriend so much...we can work things out."

When it comes to the welfare of a child, no mother, or father for that matter, should stand by and let these things happen to an innocent child.

Since Daddy thought it was okay to do it to his own son, then I guess he thinks it is okay to become the prison beyotch to many prison Bubba's who would be more than happy to oblige.

I'm sure tempted to give you a "high five" on that, but I'm more for the immediate sentencing of this deviate to a public hanging, than turning him loose so other sexual deviates can have their way with him.

I think the news guys made up the whole story. I'm a suspicious type and have zero faith in the media. I've seen them embellish "stories" that weren't all that exciting, and I've seen them ignore things that should have been big news. So I don't put it past them to completely make up a story like this just to get their readers all fired up.

Don't you ever wonder why, when x number of guys kill their wives in any given year, the Laci Peterson murder gets all the publicity and you never hear about any of the others?

Whenever a non-celebrity gets a lot of publicity for something that is fairly routine, I'm always curious how they got the spotlight. When Christy did the SAS/AIM March a few years ago, the Post did a small story on it and featured her. But she got nowhere NEAR the publicity that the Million Mom March babes did. Why not?

I would also be surprised in a way, so near to the last debacle - Dan Rather and 60 Minutes - that the news media would risk this sort of thing.

Semi-, but I heard that the answer is two-fold. First, the disappearance and all that happened in Modesto, which had been in the news a lot recently. And secondly, a group, based in Modesto, with strong influence/ties to the media, helped with the search for Laci, so naturally they did their best to make it national news.
