Separating anatomy from what it means to be a man or a woman, New York City is moving forward with a plan to let people alter the sex on their birth certificate even if they have not had sex-change surgery.

So then using only birth certificates, those that are anatomically the same sex could legally be married because their birth certificates say they are of the opposite sex?

I needed to get a copy of my birth certificate in order to get a passport when I was in the Navy. It came in the mail to our division office and my GF (at the time) was looking at it and announces to everybody "Hey!! this says you're female"
Sure enough, little "x" in the wrong box so I immediatly applied for a room in the woman's barracks.

Guy I know proved he is the last remaining member of some tribe. The U.S. Department of Interior claimed immanent domain on 9000 acres in North Carolina that were the historical tribal grounds and gave them to him and since they are Indian tribal grounds, non-taxable. Pauper to rich man instantaneously. Nine thousand acres of prime land is one heck of an asset on a balance sheet.
