"Today on Glenn Beck’s show, he had former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell on to talk about what happened to him last week. You see it seems some dumb-ass punks were driving the Texas countryside, summarily executing dogs.

What’s that saying about a “special place….?”

Marcus was at home, it was late at night and he was awake. He heard a gunshot outside, told his mom to stay inside, and when he went outside he saw a group of punks standing around his yellow lab named “Dasy,” lying dead in the ditch. These punks had shot Dasy with a .357 and killed her. Dasy was very special to Marcus, because she served not only as his therapy dog, but her very name was an acronym for the members of his SEAL team who fought and died in Afghanistan - Danny, Axe, Southern Boy (Marcus) and Yankee.

Marcus chased these punks over four counties, and he nearly shot the driver. Finally the Rangers caught up with these punks in Huntsville, TX and the idiots in handcuffs were laughing about it. They said they would also kill Marcus. Do these douchebags not know about Marcus?"

Evidently not. Maybe the TX Rangers could "arrange" an escape, or the judge could "throw out" the case on a technicality.

I wonder how many people on here have even heard of the circumstances surrounding Marcus and his book "Lone Survivor".

"From The Washington Post
If you're looking for a true story that showcases both American heroism and Afghani humanity, Marcus Luttrell's Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 (Little, Brown, $24.99), written with Patrick Robinson, may be the book for you. In June of 2005, Luttrell led a four-man team of Navy SEALs into the mountains of Afghanistan on a mission to kill a Taliban leader thought to be allied with Osama bin Laden. On foot, the team encountered two adult men and a teenage boy. A debate broke out as to whether the SEALs should summarily execute the trio to keep them from alerting the Taliban. Luttrell himself was called upon to make the decision. He was torn between considerations of morality and his survival instinct, and he points out that "any government that thinks war is somehow fair and subject to rules like a baseball game probably should not get into one. Because nothing's fair in war, and occasionally the wrong people do get killed."

Luttrell opted to spare the Afghanis' lives. About an hour later, the Taliban launched an attack that claimed nearly a hundred of their own men but also the lives of all the SEALs except Luttrell, who was left wounded.

Not long after that, the Taliban shot down an American rescue helicopter, killing all 16 men on board. Luttrell is sure that the three Afghanis he let go turned around and betrayed the SEALs.

But if nothing is fair in war, neither is anything foreordained. Luttrell was found by other Afghanis, one of whom claimed to be his village's doctor. Once again, Luttrell had to rely on his instincts. "There was something about him," Luttrell writes. "By now I'd seen a whole lot of Taliban warriors, and he looked nothing like any of them. There was no arrogance, no hatred in his eyes." Luttrell trusted the man and his colleagues, who took him back to their village, where the law of hospitality -- "strictly nonnegotiable" -- took hold. "They were committed to defend me against the Taliban," Luttrell writes, "until there was no one left alive."

The law held, and Luttrell survived, returned home and received the Navy Cross for combat heroism from President Bush.

Call me dense....but what are you trying to say by your response. Thanks!

Yup, you're dense, read the quoted box in his post and see if you can figure it out.

As far as the story goes, doesn't surprise me, I wouldn't even be surprised if it was American hating, Che shirt wearing ******s that targeted his pet on purpose.

"Typical White Person"
From Glenn Beck

On Thursday I believe it was, Wednesday or Thursday about 1:00 a.m., Marcus is a guy who doesn't sleep anymore at night. He sleeps during the daytime. And about 1:00 he happened to be awake and he heard a gunshot. He lives on a ranch with his mother in Texas. He grabs his gun and he goes outside. There he sees, I believe it was four. It may be three but I believe it was four young men 18 to 24 years old, all of them, where they had just shot his dog. Marcus' dog is named Dasy. Each letter represents D A S Y represents one of the fallen members of his team. It was given to him in recovery to help him through the recovery process. This dog means everything to Marcus. Marcus had his gun and he took it out and he put it right between the eyes of one of the guys. He was standing away from them, pointed right between the eyes. Now, here's a SEAL team member who is wildly, he's just, he is having trouble, man. He is still recovering from his injuries. He had just gotten out of surgery. He's standing there with a gun between the guy's eyes. He doesn't fire. All four and he's just saying, "You killed my dog." They executed his dog. "You killed my dog. Why would you do that?" They run. They get into his car. Marcus gets into his truck, chases them over four counties, finally runs them into a ditch. He calls the Rangers. The Texas Rangers arrive and these guys, when the Texas Rangers are taking these guys away, Marcus has held them there by a gun. As the Rangers are taking these guys away, they're threatening Marcus' life and saying, "When we get out, we're coming for you next. First it was your dog. It's going to be you next. You don't know who you're messin' with." That's when Marcus kind of snapped just a little bit and said to the Ranger, "Excuse me, ranger, do you know who I am?" He said, "Yes, sir, Mr. Luttrell, I do." He said, "You might want to explain to these punks because I could have killed them 600 different ways and if I wanted to kill you guys after what you would have done what you just did to my dog, I would have pulled you down into my basement and I would have tortured you for days and you wouldn't have died until you begged me for death. So before you start saying you're going to come after me, you better learn who you've just whose dog you just killed."

They get into jail. These four punks have been killing dogs in Marcus' county now for a month, for joys, joy rides and kicks. Tonight Marcus is going to be on television and he's going to tell the story, and I'm showing the pictures of these dirtbags. And I want you to call PETA, I want you to call every activist you know. I want you to hear the story of a hero whose dog was executed. In all of the times that everybody is saying, oh, guns gotta be taken off the streets, you gun nuts. Here's a responsible gun owner that with everything he's gone through, everything that that dog means, these dirtbags come and kill his dog. He could have killed them all. He probably would have enjoyed it, justifiably so and he didn't because he's an American hero. Keep him in your prayers.

Wow, thats really sad, and they're lucky for sure that they are alive, and in one piece.

I am wondering though, why his therapy dog was outside.

Marcus and the people of Texas should be cautious. These kids arent playing with a full deck. I believe that it is a proven fact that sick minds who kill and torture animals often graduate to serial killers and killing humans. It sounds like these kids are ready for graduation.

I would hate to see this American hero destroyed ,by being arrested for doing the world a favor and taking these kids out.

I would bet now that the parents of these mentally ill, sick ,brain dead juveniles are saying right now that their kids are nice boys who were just out for some fun.

I sure wish I could sit on their jury.

Gee, I dont' know. Maybe to GO TO THE BATHROOM?! What does it even matter? The dog was not on someone else's property. Are you trying to make excuses for the shooters?! :duh:

Oh, yes, of course, I think it is perfectly fine to go on someone elses property and laugh about shooting someones elses dog all the while threatening to kill the guy who put it outside! Damn, why should anyone have a issue with it!?

In case you couldn't tell, that first bit was :sarcasm:

I only said that because it says he was laying down with the dog outside. It just seemed odd to me that a therapy dog would be left outside long enough for him to be laying down. To me that doesn't seem like a trip outside to go to the bathroom, but that the dog was supposed to be left out there, and if it was indeed a therapy dog, then I was curious to why. Geez.

I think what they did was horribly sick and stupid. Hence the rest of the post that you nicely left out of the quote reading

Cause you know, I'd think it was sad if I thought it was all perfectly cool, right!

Where does it say he was laying down with the dog? The dog is a female, by the way. And you know what, dogs don't need to just go outside long enough to pee. It's ok for them to be out longer.

I'm just shocked you'd even question why the dog was outside.

Uhh..???

Okay, she. When I was typing, I couldn't remember, so I said it.

Yes, it is okay to be out longer it just sounded strange to me at first.

I think its shocking you would go on arguing with me about something so stupid. I don't just let my dogs out to do what they please for any amount of time, it makes me nervous, I forget sometimes that not everyone freaks about that sort of stuff..
