mascarpone cheese

Which grocery store carries it? I'm making a tiramisu cake and need some. I don't think I've ever seen it before but then again, I've never looked for it

It is hard to find around here. Good luck. I did find it once in an Italian speciality store in Greenbelt. But sometimes the grocery stores are hit and miss around here. I'd think the fancy McKay's in Leonardtown or Giant are your best bets.

I usually use full flavored brand name cream cheese as a substitute.

Other options are
-Use the "freshest, best-quality" cream cheese you can find
-Mix equal amounts of cream cheese and sour cream
-Mix 1/2 pound of ricotta cheese with 1 cup of heavy cream in a food processor until it forms a homogeneous cream (this substitutes for about 1 pound of mascarpone)

Yup..I get it at giant..usually in those front cases by the deli..woodburns has it to.

I needed it last year and found it at McKay's in Charlotte Hall. It was in the deli area. I think I posted on here and someone here told me they had it.

BJ's carries it too in the stand alone cheese island section. Big container, great price.

Shoppers has it also, it's in the bin with the bleu cheese.
