We have a mugshot for Mays, which the Kansas City Stay included in their story about the new charges, but the editor’s note is something to behold:
Are you kidding me? First, this was a mass shooting. The liberal media always treats these incidents as high profile unless new details emerge that prevent them from weaponizing the tragedy against Republicans. Second, it was a high-profile event—a Super Bowl parade for an NFL team that could be the next dynasty in the league for years. They waited because they felt this was a local shooting. That makes no sense since the event was televised. If the shooters were white, I think this mugshot would’ve been plastered, as they did with Kyle Rittenhouse and a host of other shooting suspects that aligned with the Left’s narrative on these stories.

Lyndell Mays, one of the two men charged with second-degree murder in the shooting that followed the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade, appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court Tuesday.

Why We're Not Going to Hear Much About the Woman Who Committed a Shooting Spree During the Eclipse
Tragically, there were also a few looney toons out there, like this Georgia woman who went on a shooting spree because of the solar eclipse. She claimed God told her to do it. She checked out of a hotel in Florida before the attacks, reportedly telling hotel staff as she left (via ABC News):
A shooting spree? An AR-15 rifle? Will there be any gun control nonsense? No. Ms. Celestine is black. While that doesn’t make a difference at all, we all know that’s not the case regarding the liberal media and how they report on shootings. If Celestine was a white male driving a pick-up truck with MAGA stickers, you bet this would get a couple of days' coverage. I don’t know about wall-to-wall, but there won’t be much about this for obvious reasons.

Covenant Teacher Thinks of All the Terrible Things That Could Happen If She Had a Gun
We were told by police last April that they were reviewing transgender mass shooter Audrey Hale's manifesto for public release. It's a full year later and we still don't have it.
Six people, including three children, were shot by Hale at Covenant School in Nashville. Now there's a bill that would allow teachers to arm themselves if they so chose, upon completing training, background checks, and a psychological evaluation. WSMV reports that high school students staged a march to the Capitol to oppose the bill. The Tennessean reports that "hundreds of Nashville high school students walked out of class" to join the protest.
Speaking out against the bill that would not require her in any way to carry a firearm, on Covenant teacher spoke out about how useless she'd be in a crisis.
Nashville Police Say ‘Ongoing Investigation’ Prevents Release Of Covenant Shooter’s Manifesto
During the hearing, Lora Fox, an attorney for the city of Nashville, indicated that the city’s police were still investigating the shooting, including probing whether the transgender-identifying killer had any accomplices. The shooter was shot dead by authorities on the scene of the crime, and there has thus far been no indication that anybody else was involved.

A lawyer for Judicial Watch, which is representing one of the groups in court, argued that Metro Nashville needs to provide a more detailed list of materials obtained from the shooter, as well as specific reasons why they’re exempted from release.
Lawyers for both Covenant School and Covenant Presbyterian Church, where the school is located, argued against the release of the writings. The church asked for more limited redactions pertaining to security while the school requested a broad ban on any of the killer’s writings being released.
Peter Klett, a lawyer for the school, argued that releasing the shooter’s writings could trigger more hatred and violence toward children and Christians. “Hateful words of the shooter certainly may have an audience in the general public,” he said, arguing against their release.
Limited portions of the alleged manifesto were leaked by commentator Steven Crowder, who obtained three photographs of the writings. The pages included racial slurs against white children as well as an itinerary for “death day,” which articulated the shooter’s intent to have a “high death count.”
