McDonalds

I think this could turn out to be crucial in the election. As campaign events go, it was clever but not for the reasons I’ve seen online.

It was clever because the person who SHOULD have done it and would have profited most from it - was Kamala. And now that he’s done it, she can’t.

In her defense - I don’t have any tax documents from that time either although every single job, I could produce names of co-workers, bosses and they could do likewise. It would NOT be hard to find someone.

She has, at least, identified the exact McDonalds and summer (1983) when she worked there. Moreover, I never ever included my jobs on my resume of that nature. I’ve seen copies of her resume and she includes several references to jobs PERTINENT to the one applied for.

I don’t actually know anyone who when applying for a professional position included fry cook on their resume. Only on the paperwork AFTER getting the job.

She is not relatable. It sounds like it's not that big of a deal, but... it's a huge deal. She's not a nice person, by many accounts. She has an emasculated type of husband who carries her purse like Steny did for Nancy. By all accounts, she slept her way to her powerful positions in California. She has never been a popular figure UNLESS it was "staged". The attempts in her campaign to create scenarios that make her seem "normal" are so bad that they go viral as major cringy! (Al Smith dinner video!)

She seeks power to BE someone. She, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton - all are variations of the same type of woman. Thank God the American People are rejecting those woman overall to run our country.

He's truly personable. In real life. I always recommend Trump's book "The Art of the Deal" as an excellent way to explain how he really is. He's always been like this - that's why so many people have been drawn to him. Yes, mean tweets - whatever. Trump is a fighter and that part is also a part of him. You hit him politically - he hits back. BUT ---he's a down to earth guy and has many of the same flaws as other men (and women) he's human. (His Fox News segments with Lawrence Jones in the Barber Shop Series!) He's powerful due to his stature and his money. But he's done many, many GOOD things with his money. He uses his money TO DO GOOD THINGS, he's VERY philanthropic. (If you haven't seen Tyrus' interview with DJT, you should!)

HE gets us. We (most of us: black, white, hispanic,et. al) get him. And we all did better financially during his admin. No question

Social Security would have records of her working. They would list how much $$ she made for that year. I don't know how they keep THEIR records, but the totals are on my SS statement go waaay back.

True - and the IRS would, also. Kind of a deep dive - and invading someone's otherwise private and protected records just to prove a minor point.

It's not that deep of a dive -they do waaaaaay worse! Like the saying goes -"politics ain't bean bag".

I'm not sure we've had the actual "October Surprise", yet, either... it's gonna happen on someone's side. :tap:

I have no doubt Kamala never worked at McDonalds and just said that to come across as relatable. It shouldn't have mattered, for reasons you stated, and should have been lost in the campaign rhetoric. But sometimes even small lies come back to bite you in the ass, especially when you tell a LOT of them.

It's more important to me that she was instrumental in flooding our country with illegal alien criminals. That she's a lazy dumb bitch who slept her way to the top. That she's a vacuous lightweight who can't (won't?) even answer simple questions about her agenda. I can't even picture her on a world stage negotiating with the likes of Putin, Xi, and terrorist leaders.

But if it's McDonalds that takes her down, so be it. Whatever works.

Wait, do you actually keep tax stuff for more than 20 years? Do you have W-2's from before the year 2000? The IRS doesn't even keep your records that long and will only give you copies of returns (which may have W2 attached) up to 10 years old.

IMO -(which isn't worth much)- When Kamala stated she worked at McDonalds, she wasn't trying to point out that she actually worked she was showing pointing out that even she had once had a menial job. She was putting down those who work there.

I think the "I was raised in a middle class home" is at least, repeated so often that it HAS become a bit of a joke, especially if it actually is parodied on SNL. She was NOT. Grant you, when her parents were newly wed and starting out, they weren't "rich". As time wore on and as she grew, no, she lived in a MUCH more affluent environment. To ME - middle class is "Roseanne" - RICH is "Cosby".

Not only do I have my records going back to 1970, my IRS statement shows my reported income from back then.

That's impressive. I keep my stuff for 7 years, in case of an audit, then get rid of it. I get rid of it on purpose, because if you have it then they can ask for it, but if you got rid of it as allowed then they can go suck eggs if they ask. Not that I would ever be audited, I think maybe 5 years ever did I not take the standard deduction. I would wager that MOST people do not keep records for quite as long as you have.

I'd wager no one does. Like you said, 7 years for audits is the norm, but I'll bet most don't even have that much. All of my tax records are in one file folder box, so when I kick the bucket, it's easy for whomever is cleaning up after me can just toss the box. No muss, no fuss.

But on occasion, it's eye-opening to review some of it and wonder how I survived.
