I believe she stated clearly that she witnessed it... and there was another person that wintenssed it... How many witnesses does this state need for a hit-and-run? Leaving the scene? Is that hit and run? Isn't a hit and run a felony?
She did state she witnessed it. However, she didn't indicate that she had done anything other than post here that it happened. What I was suggesting is that she contacts either MSP the Sheriff's Office, or the agency the guy works at so they know who the witness is. If the guy comes in, and there is no damage to his vehicle, then without knowing who the witness is, the authorities can't do anything.
You do not have to be in the vehicle for it to be a hit and run, but it is not a felony.

Don't swell his head. First he cleaned urinals, now he's allowed to carry zip ties and mace.
Your such a douche. You know absolutely nothing about me. Just because you lead such a pathetic existence, doesn't mean everyone does. And I know a lot about you!

She said she left a note with her name and number. If the person wants to pursue it she can be contacted.

And if she wants to make sure the police know there is a witness she can contact them. Pieces of paper often seem to leave vehicles, or the owner may not have seen it. What's wrong with her contacting the police? Why is everything on here have to be confrontational. Jeez. A couple months ago a woman posted something about the police taking her kids shopping and people had to write bad stuff about that. I just don't get the small minority of people here that always want to be negative about the police!

Merely because you said this, I guess.

Good point, though, the note could get lost.

WELL...
police wise...i've never met a single MD state trooper that I got along with... They tend to either be dicks or (this one i came across) have a total lack of self esteem which leads them to having to try and be a hero in stupid situations. Just my personal experience...

County cops, thats hit or miss...some are cool, others abuse their power...

But i'd totally agree (i was actually going to post it but forgot cuz i went to lunch..) that leaving a piece of paper on a windshield doesn't suffice...these can unintentionally (or otherwise) find a way of disappearing.

There are jerks and good guys in every profession. Cops, lawyers, judges, govt. workers, doctors, lawyers, so on and so on. I just don't get why people will have negative contact with a police officer then lump them all into the same basket?

That wasn't said in the first post. The first post was to suggest to the woman to contact the police so that if the paper wasn't there the police would have a witness to contact. What's wrong with being thorough?
