I got an EZMD toll fine of $9.00 going across the Nice Memorial Bridge, because obviously, the whatever didn't catch my EZ pass going across the bridge.

Anyway, I was curious why I send my fine to some POB address in Philadelphia, PA?

They outsourced fine collection to another state?

Something like 19 states use the E-ZPass for tolls.

Strange because I got the fine in Maryland - got a notice from Maryland.

I guess this is normal.

They got issues with their system. I took a trip across the bridge a few months ago and it did the same thing to me even though the transponder was right in the windshield and the tag is registered.

Our experience with plates registered to the account and the transponder not detected has been a full toll deduction, no discount. If this occurs out of maryland, bend over, they don't talk to each other on this matter.

Could there be a problem depending on the states your car is registered? I once got a fine in Delaware and it happened because although I had an EZ Pass, my car wasn’t registered for Delaware.

Although the bridge is new and it needs to be paid for I find it ridiculous that it costs more to cross it than the bay bridge that is 5 time longer.

I did the OH, Penn Turnpike in Aug from North Akron to Breezewood on a motorcycle. Bill comes in the mail a few weeks later, Like $54.00 and the option to sign up for an EasyPass and maybe they would cut the bill in half.
I'm so pissed off, I will never again use a toll road in OH or Penn. Its absurd to charge that much.

The NorthEast is absurd for the toll charges. It literally cost me as much in tolls as it does in gas to get to Eastern Long Island.

I have one on order. But like I said, not because it's 'green', or doesn't use hydrocarbon fuel, or any other reason than I think it's a unique vehicle with a lot of thought built in. I'd buy it if it looked the same and had a gas motor.

There was a time when a state couldn't call a road an "Interstate" highway and levy tolls on the road.
Mainly because something like 90 percent of the funding for said highway came from Uncle.
Now we have tolls and restricted access which means the state collects from the vendors at the rest stops.
Not to mention the state troopers who like to write speeding tickets

If you take the Bay Bridge there are tolls on Delaware 1 / US 301 from Middletown to I-95
I-95 north of Baltimore has another toll, MSP. For some reason they love that stretch of road.

Multiple bridges getting from Jersey to LI, and all very expensive. I damn near passed out at the bill when I dragged a trailer up.
Either Goethels or Outerbridge Crossing $17 or 14.75 one-way, eastbound only
Verezzano Narrows Bridge $11 both directions.
That's just an out-of-state car, no trailer, etc...

GW Bridge $14.75, but it's a much longer ride north to get onto LI, and you take either the Throgs Neck or Whitestone bridges, $11 and $10, both ways.

Add in the Baltimore, Deleware and Jersey Turnpike tolls. I only use 3/4 tank of fuel for the trip.
