The NorthEast is absurd for the toll charges. It literally cost me as much in tolls as it does in gas to get to Eastern Long Island.
I bought a 23' Mako CC from a man in Montauk, NY. I was driving my CC dually and a 25" empty boat trailer on the way up.
I left and took the Merizono? Bridge and I was classified as a commercial truck and it was pushing a $100.00 cash to get the fu ck out of NY.
Never been back.

I got an EZMD toll fine of $9.00 going across the Nice Memorial Bridge, because obviously, the whatever didn't catch my EZ pass going across the bridge.

Anyway, I was curious why I send my fine to some POB address in Philadelphia, PA?

They outsourced fine collection to another state?
Same thing happened to me. It wasn’t worth the hassle to call and contest the increase in cost for toll by mail so I just paid it. Wonder how many thousands they have done the same to? Seems like a way to quickly increase revenue.

I was big mad, dialed the number and was told my call was important and my hold time was 147 minutes.

My husband is cracking up laughing saying he doubted I could last 30 minutes. So yeah, I paid it but I was thinking they get tons of revenue from people like us who are not going to be bothered.

I signed up for Pay by the Plate. You pay about a dollar more but didn't want to wait 2 months for an EZpass transponder. Went over the Nice bridge in Sept. Got an email saying my card had expired. I put in the new date believing they would charge the toll. Nope. Got a letter to pay $9 by a certain date or a fine of $20+. I called, was 37th in line. Worked down to 14th and it never changed. Tried to use the online site but the transaction for the toll wasn't even there. I emailed asking how to do it. There was a message there of it could take several days to respond. That was over 2 1/2 weeks ago and still no reply. I mailed off a check on 11/1 due by the 13th. Hope they got it.

One thing about Government. They don't give a good sht. about how long you have to wait.
All of their offices are the same IRS ,Social security, DOJ any of them. They just don't care.
The truth is they don't want to hear from you anyway.

Many large companies are the same way. Try Verizon or Breezeline.

They have you by the nuts and they know it.

If there was a camera inside you'd see half not at their desk or standing around talking.

Wife and I are travelling across the Nice bridge for TG . She's leaving early so she'll have the transponder this time. I'll be interested to see if I get charged $6 or the full $9.
