Dream Stealer
Im not really understanding where these stories are coming from...I worked at st mary's..we did surguries, treatments, and hospital stays ALLLLLL the time for "self payers" (code: no insurance). they do the treatment and then send in a billing person to talk about how they can pay it back either through assistance or a payment plan. at the other hospital i worked at... it was the same deal. we even had a guy stay there for over a month even though we werent treating him because he was homeless and no shelters would take hiom because he got violent when he drank...we collected clothes for him..even got him a dvd player so he could watch movies in his room all knowing full well that he could not..and would NEVER EVER pay his bill the doc came and saw him just the same the hospital knew he was there..no mention of money....i mean...i have never seen this "you dont pay you get no treatment" attitude people say is there..i have however seen many a time when people dont understand what we are trying to tell them...or have their own idea and love to tell that story...many years in hospitals...and I just DONT SEE IT. In fact I would like to see some of it. I am sick and tired of watching crack hoes get narcotics for the "headache" or "back pain" or "abdominal pain" they have while they sit in the er for 4 hours eating kfc and watching tv all while high on the taxpayers dime. do a CT, find nothing and refuse to give them narcotics they ##### because they "left in pain" so its cheaper to give them the drugs. i wish we could kick them the hell out. and it happens alll the time. I have never seen anyone, med seeker or anyone else refused treatment. end of story.
