Meet Kenny The Down Syndrome Tiger. Kenny is a white tiger that was ‘selectively’ bred in captivity in the United States.
As zoos and exotic pet stores, along with consumers, have increased demand for white tigers, breeders have attempted to recreate the ideal white tiger. With large snout, blue eyes and white fur relying on a limited pool of white tigers that are in captivity.

The result? With such a limited gene pool, white tigers are born with an outstandingly high rate of deformities and health issues. For example, Kenny is mentally retarded, has significant physical limitations, and is considered the first tiger with Down syndrome.

I think he's cute, too! I didn't know there was such a demand for these as pets, either.

I also have no idea how they test the tiger's IQ to determine he is mentally retarded.

When my son lived in CA he went to a party, walked into a room and this is what he saw. He sent me a pic right away. Apparently they are the pet of the rich.

but the breeders i work with for my dogs TAKE PRIDE in breeding.... AND breed for the right purpose...
