The advertisement shows the average man as a caveman, aping a television program he is watching; his disgusted wife contemplates plugging the module into him instead.

Eh. I haven't even clicked on the link, but men (specifically middle-aged white men) have been depicted as idiots in commercials and shows for decades now.... (Family Guy, American Dad, Simpsons, Malcom in the Middle, blah blah blah). If you start looking for it, you'll see that the majority of TV commercials depict middle-aged white males like this.

Especially add in teens/tweens channels - like MTV, Disney, Nickelodeon, etc. The dad (especially white male dads), along with practically every white adult male are shown as mean, bungling, incapable of making a decision without panicing, stupid, irrelevant. People of color, Mom or the punk teens will save the day, while dad will say " Great! Lets all go out for burgers and ice cream on me!" while mom and the kids will roll their eyes.....

Men are portrayed this way in commercials and tv shows..and generally distrusted in life.

look at the guy kicked out of the kids section at the book store, or the one that was asked to move on the airplane because an unaccompanied child was seated next to him, or the dad at walmart who had a cop follow him home. women wouldn't have encountered those scenarios.
