You have to wonder about guys who would prefer a bad marriage to being single. HELLO???

The headline is very poorly chosen. It reminds me of those SAT reading comprehension tests where they ask you what the article should be called.

It's not so much that men prefer being solo over a bad marriage, but that their primary *aversion* to marriage is fear of it going bad.

I mean, you could also write an article titled "people prefer to work for someone else than own a business that goes bad", and that title would be meaningless, but I bet fear of failure IS a driving factor in why people don't work for themselves.

A study of bachelors who revealed this nugget tends to overturn the prevailing wisdom that it is commitment they're afraid of - not failure.

And they needed a study, no less :roflmao:

Do Men prefer beer, sports, fast cars and action movies... or Wine, Craft Shows, gardening and Opera?

Do you think I could solicit ten-twelve million from the gubment to conduct the study?

I think there are plenty of women who feel that way too (like yours truely).

I'm afraid of a bad marriage but you don't think like that until you've had lousy, crappy relationships OR lousy, crappy childhood issues, that have sent you down a path of self doubt with no way out.

If it isn't the childhood issues, most young people would have absolutely no reason to feel or believe that the marriage they are about to enter into could possibly head on a downward spiral never to recover from again. Your "IN LOVE", why would one possibly even think that it could go SOUTH unless you've been on a bunch of SOUTHBOUND trainwrecks in the past.
