Merge lane

I was heading south on 4 pulling a trailer approaching landfill when someone decided to not use the merge lane. I believe I uttered the "c" word with other adjectives at a very high volume. It was close.

What does that mean, they decided to not use the merge lane? They just cut you off?

If you've driven here long enough, you should know that happens alot. I've worked in Lex Park for 11 yrs and traveling up or down 5/235, it happens regularly. Some treat a "yield" as a stop sign, some don't..some pull directly into the left lane and do 35 waiting to make a ubie in the next crossover. Just expect the worst when seeing someone about to try to get onto 5/235 and act accordlingly.

Unfortunately, this is all 100% true. I taught my kids to drive defensively and always assume the worst in drivers. Basically a modified Murphy's Law, but for driving.

I lost my beloved 2003 Toyota 4 runner 2 years ago because I was rear ended. That car was amazing. I think it would have run forever. There is no replacement. I had that car so long, that it had conformed to my body. And, yes, it was because a dumb you know was on her cell phone. I have a Ford Explorer now, which is very nice, but not the same. Glad you made it out of that fix without an accident. People do suck sometimes. Glad you didn’t get an ouch.

... And dont' be shocked when someone comes to a complete halt, in traffic, on the highway so they can turn right into a driveway or parking lot.

[this is not confined to SoMD]
I do and I have been driving for a long time - without an accident, but there are times when I am utterly amazed at the level of stupidity a driver go to.

But I wonder if SoMD can lay claim to the original Karen drivers. You know the kind who feel need to teach everyone the proper way to drive (even if they are doing it wrong).
